Our spy photographers captured the 2013 Ford Mustang GT recently, and not far behind it is this, the V6-flavored pony car. The V6, as with the GT, gets a significant brawny cue from the top-dog Shelby GT500, that protruding grille. Although it receives the same headlight treatment as the GT, the V6 leaves off the front splitter and the running-horse logo remains front and center in the grille, not offset as on the GT prototype.

Things are tamer out back, naturally, but a revised treatment of taillights and bumper will set this one apart from others in the family. It appears to be a mild suite of changes that we'll have to wait another year for, but perhaps this is all Ford thinks it needs to put the Mustang back on the number-one peg.

Better to wait for the 2014/2015 redesign.

No camo on the roof is nearly camo free?

I can't tell what exactly they changed (at least on the V6 anyways; I liked the old GT front end better...).

Look closely the grill is now shaped like the GT500's. Current Mustang V6: http://photo.netcarshow.com/Ford-Mustang_V6_2011_photo_1a.jpg GT500: http://photo.netcarshow.com/Ford-Mustang_Shelby_GT500_2011_photo_01.jpg

It's a very minimal design change..revised front and rear lights. was there really a need to camouflage the entire car? Hopefully they dont jack up the price on this car due to such small changes.

The lights aren't the only change. The front fascia is getting a GT500-style front fascia. The hood is also missing the powerdome on both the V6 and GT, but the hood on the GT seems a bit more higher.

I thought it was supposed to be in for some major sheet metal changes and get the new Ford big front grille opening....

That will come in the 2014 model year as the 50th anniversary edition. This is just to keep it fresh.

Looks like the Mustang will be making a European return as well... the black bumper insert is more euro-plate friendly than the 2010 model's.

I know it's just my opinion but I like it. Gives it a bit of a road racing look to me. But that's just my opinion. Hope to get my hands on one someday.

It looks like they went back to the old tail lights from a few years ago. Can't say I'm crazy about the odd shape of the current ones, but it does seem strange to go back to a design already used. I'm probably wrong in thinking they're the same....will just have to wait and see them without camo.

Those are the same tail lights that have been used since 2010. They haven't changed.

I hope the 81Chevy Impala taillights are not part of the package? The frontend looks good I can deal with that and the body style, but the taillights just got plan ugly.If this is the case which we'll see in the near future I'll wait for the 2014 or buy a pre owned 2012.

I'm sure whatever shitbox you drive could NEVER live up to the quality and reliability that the Mustang's have. Plus you're a "Columbian Ricer". What the hell do you know about design? NOTHING. Go play with your fart can exhaust somewhere else.

ford screwed up the back end again, what is wrong with them. they should fire the team that approved the look, are they that out of touch. the mustang still looks like it got kicked in the ass the trunk lid should be even with the back bumper and well just look up motor tend 2015 and that car with its suttle changes would be a hit
