We at Autoblog love a good supercar battle, and of all the rivalries within the land of the exotic sports car, perhaps none is as fierce as Ferrari versus Lamborghini. And while Ferrari doesn't exactly have a direct competitor for the absolutely bombastic Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, the folks at Underground Racing may have come up with a suitable (and awesome) solution.

The Ferrari 458 Italia you see here isn't just your stock coupe. Underground Racing has fitted the 458 with its Stage One bolt-on twin-turbocharging system, bringing the Italia's output up to a staggering 700 horsepower – at the wheels. Naturally, a race was in order.

Now, we'll go on record right away and say we're shocked that the team decided to do an acceleration race on a public highway, but nevertheless, it's clear that the addition of two turbochargers have indeed helped the Ferrari's performance. Was it enough to beat the Aventador? Follow the jump to find out.

Annoying, unnecessarily long intro: Check Retarded, jumpy editing: Check. Racing on public ways when they clearly have the cash to use a proper track: Check. Unsynchronized start of race: Check. ---- Analysis: yet another crap Underground Racing video. Nice cars, bros.

The article said they were "shocked" to see the race on a public freeway...Did the writer not notice that there was no other traffic on their section of the freeway during the side-by-side scenes aside from the camera/chase car? It was a closed course, I am sure. If I am not mistaken, the freeway wasn't even an open-to-the-public road yet during the "race" scenes. Look at the cones in the other lane at 1:32. You can clearly see it is an un-open, unfinished freeway project. It was clever editing, they were NEVER really racing on a public freeway with other unaware traffic present. You can bet there was safety equipment, fire vehicles, police, ambulances, and all the other trappings of a professional film shoot discreetly tucked just out of camera range. The legal ramifications to do otherwise would be too great. You were fooled by guys sitting in a dark room cutting video cleverly.

Now put a twin turbo on the Lambo and race these two again and see how it fairs for the Ferrari.

So if they ask you, "What car would you like?", you respond with, "Yes".

If that was done from a dig the aventador would have dominated. They are just trying to make their tt kit look more effective.

WOW!! Videos that showcase beautiful cars like these is the reason I keep coming back to this site....even though there are a few crack articles. As for between these two cars, the Lambo wins it for me every time. Sure the Ferrari was faster, but there is something about the styling of the Lambo that screams futuristic. If I could even sit in one I think I would break into tears, let alone drive one lol

Roll racing is almost as heinous as rickrolling. And turbochargers vs stock? Talk about a lack of control groups... extremely pointless video -_____-

straight up, you hit the nail on the head, line them up, and get it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 mile length, we will see who the winner is. I m sick of short spurt races, lets go for top end in 1-3 mile straight aways, that would be exciting.

The guy in the Ferrari was calling the start, so could anticipate the start better, and then shortened the time between "one" and "go", thereby giving himself the jump on the Lamborghini. Take it to the track and get a starter!

That's exactly what I was thinking... Even though they had walkie talkies, that guy could go, 3, 2, 1, throttle down to eliminate turbo lag, GO.... A drag race would be much more revealing...

You were surprised this is how UR tested acceleration for the youtube masses? Pretty sure that's the only way they know how.
