SEMA is only a few weeks away, and it seems like all the little fish are being let out of the pond first. We've heard about visitations from Focuses and Fiestas, Genesis Coupes and Velosters and classic Ford racers, now add the 2012 Honda Civic Si by Fox Marketing to the roll call. And full disclosure: Autoblog will have a sticker on this car.

You know the drill by now: start with an economy car, change everything, voila, SEMA here we come. Among these changes are a turbocharged 450-horsepower engine, and not just any turbo, but that from Honda's LMP1/LMP2 and IndyCar engines. An ECU from a 2006 Civic Si controls the action, and with all hope, 10.5-inch tires will control the grip. Follow the jump for a complete parts list or go straight for the goodies in the high-res gallery.

Fox Marketing Cars 2012 Honda Civic Si

The main focus of this build was to showcase the reliability, and performance capability from Honda's new K24Z7 power plant. With a properly engineered turbo kit the new Civic Si can consistently provide an enthusiast with over 450 horsepower for 100,000+ reliable miles without blinking an eye. Because the K24Z7 is so strong from the factory, we added a new Full-Race intercooled turbo kit. This turbo kit features the BorgWarner EFR turbo as seen in Honda's LMP1/LMP2 engine program, and 2012 Indycar teams. To properly and accurately tune the vehicle, Hondata FlashPro was selected to control Injector Dynamic 1000cc fuel injectors and the 255lph fuel pump, all made possible with the Chasebays Engine Harness. For additional power and durability, the stock plastic K24Z7 intake manifold was replaced with a Honda RRC intake manifold (euro Accord Type-R) sourced from ImportDPS. Since the car has these types of power numbers we need serious traction - so a 10.5 inch wide Vossen wheel with Toyo Tire will put the power to the ground. We then hand-built the widebody kit around the wheel and tire set up, and painted the civic BASF R-M Ultrasonic Blue Pearl, a new-school take on the classic Civic Si electron-blue-pearl. The interior was upgraded with Yonaka Ronin Racing Seats with factory Civic Si fabric inserts front, and rear. We hope you enjoy our vision for this new Si, and stay tuned to our Facebook and YouTube page for full dyno videos after SEMA!

I know those wheels from a mile away. Vossen CV3's. Looks like 20 Series rubber, maybe smaller. I bet those were a PITA to mount.

OOPS, they forgot to install the left fog light. Not feeling the two tone dash, all black would suffice.

redgpgtp97, the intercooler piping is in the way so he left the fog light out. I would've removed the passenger side one for a cleaner look, though.

Did somebody turn the way back machine to the '90s? This is as sad as Honda corporate.

I'm sorry but the Si just can't hang anymore - hasn't been able to for a good while now. Neon SRT4, Cobalt SS/TC, Mazdaspeed 3, GTI, WRX, Focus ST, Hyundai Genesis, the list of faster / better cars is pretty long. I do really like the wheels though. Not the rubber band tires, just the wheels themselves.

If only Honda could produce a CR-X Successor with looks and performance instead of relying on a tricked out Civic Si for SEMA to drum up excitement. Geesh.

i actually think it looks good . . . except for the wheel diameter, decals, and tire width to wheel width ratio

That's just distasteful. From the overwrought body kit, to the too big wheels, to the too narrow tires. Just tacky.
