In spite of believing we have a decent idea about what the fairer sex really wants, we're frequently faced with correction: "You thought that's what we wanted, but we actually want this other thing..." It's happened again courtesy of female staffers at Motor Trend, who've laid out six "Cars that catch girls' eyes."

The piece is headed by a pic of the Porsche 911 GT3 4.0, but that's not on the list. The Subaru Outback pictured above, however, is. Yes, it gets weirder from there. And while the list might, like Maroon 5, make you wonder, the comments are not to be missed. Any article that can elicit "gunna run out and git me an accord so i's can fetch me a lady !!!" deserves a look, no?

Toyota Tacoma is number 1 on that list? Thanks for reminding me why I cancelled my subscription to Motor Trend years ago.

So I pretty much need a truck, an SUV, something classic, something European something exclusive... doesn't really nail it down does it?

I must be missing something. --- "The piece is headed by a pic of the Porsche 911 GT3 4.0, but that's not on the list." --- but the article on Motor Trend's website has it listed among these 14. 1. Toyota Tacoma 2. Land Rover Discovery 3. Chevy Tahoe 4. Honda Accord Coupe 5. BMW E46 M3 6. Mazda CX9 7. Dodge Ram HD2500 8. Subaru Outback 9. Audi R8 GT 10. Porshe 356 Speedster 11. Lexus LFA 12. Porsche Cayman 13. Porsche911 GT3 14. Land Rover Range Rover

If you don't like the reporting why are you bothering with the site? Start your own and give them a run for their money. It amazes me how many people complain about the reporting yet continue to utilize the site. AB does an excellent job overall and tell me another source that you utilize that comes even close?

Subaru and eye catching do not belong in the same sentence.

While I agree that they've never been "eye-catching", their cars from the mid-2000's were, IMO, their cleanest, best-looking designs. They were subtle while being very attractive at the same time. Especially the old Legacy. But now? Yikes.....

Sorry bud but I have never found a Subaru attractive.

The 2005 Legacy GT wagon had beautiful lines, IMHO. Outback's turned into another fugly SUV. I hate all SUVs.

Any man who buys a car based on what women he thinks will be attracted to it deserves the Land Rover Sport and the neurotic suburban housewife that inevitably comes with it.

My girlfriend absolutely loves it when I drive my parent's 2010 Camaro RS (yes, it's my parent's car, I'm a college student and don't have close to $30k to spend on a car). She's a car girl, so she loves the power as well as the looks. I've gotten compliments from every single one of her friends who've seen it, too.

I hear ya! I accidentally turned my girlfriend into a car girl (mostly due to my incessant discussion on every vehicle that passes on the street lol). However, somewhere along the line she became an Evo fan...and I drive my family's WRX (I too am in college and can't afford a car like that)...needless to say, our conversations regarding the two get very heated. I love both cars, though!

Awesome, +1 people who down ranked you either don't have lovely parents, are trolls or don't have a gf.

I guarantee you that if I showed up in Aston Martin Virage all these ladies wouldn't even take a second look at the loser guys in their Subarus and Chevys.

Subaru Outback? I'd figure you'd get more compliments from lesbians and middle to golden aged women who live in the Northern US.
