Electronic Arts seems hell bent on capitalizing on its unique deal with Porsche, announcing a new contest to win a 2012 911 Carrera S as part of a promotion for its upcoming Need For Speed: The Run video game. Apparently, all you need to do to be entered into the giveaway is log into your EA account or register a new account for free. No actual purchase of the game is necessary.

Naturally, there's some fine print – the contest is only open to people living in the United States, Canada or the UK, for instance. We know there are some angry (and very vocal) fans of the Forza series out there holding a Porsche-shaped grudge against EA, but we're guessing even the hardest of the hardcore Forza fans of the world would be willing to accept a free Carrera as at least partial compensation...

Check out a video announcing the giveaway after the break.

Forza AND GT don't have Porsche. They have RUF, but only the old models.

Forza 3 had Porsche's and 4 would have as well if it wasn't for EA.

Kiss my ass EA. I'll never buy another NFS game again thanks to your stunt. I don't even really care about have Porsche in Forza, it's the principle.

"At EA, we are dicks who never learned to play nice with others, even when it makes us look like horrible, horrible ********. So here's a contest designed to remind you that we are dicks, collect your information for marketing, and taunt you with a car you won't win!"

"Oh hey we're EA and we have exclusive rights to Porsche! Since releasing a video publicizing our exclusive rights to Porsche a week after cockblocking Forza wasn't enough, we decided to give one away! Giving away one real one makes up for all the customers we lost with the stunt we pulled already right?" Yea SMD EA. Never again will I waste my money on an EA product. I'd much rather play a game that actually understands driving physics than one that lets me put cool neons and hydraulics on a Gallardo anyway. Forza > any attempt at a racing game EA has ever done. Atleast Forza has Ferrari.
