Nothing communicates the Miami Vice-era coke-dealer ethos like a slantnose Porsche 911 Turbo. Nothing, that is, except this 1986 Rinspeed Porsche 911 R69.

The loony Swiss outfit put its twist on the Flachbau by adding hot pink paint, color-matched wheels, the requisite body kit, and Testarossa-inspired side slats. Inside, Rinspeed installed power seats, the best hi-fi audio 1986 had to offer, and steering-wheel controls that would give Ray LaHood a nervous breakdown today.

True to the era that spawned it, this car's looks were dated almost before it left the factory floor.

In a strange way, though, that's part of its appeal. If you've got $79,000 to pony up, this Rinspeed R69, claimed to be the only one in the U.S., can be yours. Check out the entire eBay listing, or eyeball the photo gallery above for the whole plasticky package.

I'm a serious Porsche purist to the point where sometimes even Gemballa or RUF designs weird me out a bit. But this is just SO fantastically 80s it goes beyond uncool to the point of extreme coolness. You guys don't see it? And by the way, have you ever owned 911s? The backseat is for pizzas and gym bags, not people.

as i said earlier,...and in total agreement with your comment here,...somethings are so incredibly in bad taste and ugly, that they actually swing the pedulam full circle and become so freakin' cool it's amazing, and this cars "bad taste" is a perfect case in point!,...it's cool becuase it's so not cool!, any 911 is cool by default, but this really pushes that defination to the limit,...it's just plain ugly and stupid,...but somehow still "so cool!"

That looks like a Porsche trying to be a Ferrari trying to be a Porsche. Just...odd.

If you like cars of the '80s, then you should like this. For myself, this car is just amazing in every way.

      * The steering wheel was ahead its time, but in some places is illegal to text while driving. Speed Racer wants it back. **I wont ride this car without previous NASA grade interior clean up, and never around my neighborhood. *** Yes, interesting piece of 80's culture : ).
