The Lamborghini Aventador stands to be the new supercar king. For starters, every body part and component is completely new, from the 6.5-liter V12 boasting 700 horsepower to the light-weight carbon fiber monocoque. We're enthralled, but what about enthusiast royalty like Jay Leno?

Lamborghini
President Stephan Winkelmann took to the road to bring the Aventador to Leno, and the late night talk show host was thoroughly impressed. Winkelmann talks about how new and impressive the Aventador is, with its 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217 miles per hour. Research and Development Director Maurizio Reggiani followed with an even more in-depth dive into what makes the Aventador special, with Reggiani giving Leno a tour of the Aventador using a body-free version of the Italian exotic.

Hit the jump
to see Leno and his new Italian friends go in-depth with the Aventador. Of course Leno gets to drive the Aventador at the end, but even he had to hit the road with a chaperon.

Chill out on Leno Please. He is one of the worlds greatest carguys. He has forgotten more about Steam,Deisel, Gas and Electric vehicles than most people will ever know. Thanx to Jays love for cars, trucks and motorcycles my kids will be able to enjoy very rare vehicles that might otherwise be forgotten. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JAY LENO. More of us appreciate you for your love of cars we just dont have extra time or the desire to disrespect you. GO JAY GO

You know, when this car first came out I was less than thrilled with it. And I'm a pretty big Lamborghini fan. But I think it was the colors, because they were all that orange and white. But this car is sheer evil incarnate in black. Wow, what a sinister looking machine. Can that 'GT-R, ZR1, 911 Turbo, Vipers etc being a supercar' junk. THIS is a supercar. Take note.

No, this is borderline Hypercar Territory. You know, where the Veyrons, Paganis, Enzos, and Koenigseggs prowl.

I disagree. That such a class even exists that is. The term 'hypercar' to me just reeks of 14yo never even been behind the wheel mentality. It's just made up. Supeecars have just had to evolve to ever-higher standards and performance and price levels because sportscars have evovled so much. The highend sportscars of today (GT-R, 911 Turbo, Z06, etc) would run circles around supercars of yesteryear. So, like I said, this is a proper supercar.

Did anyone else notice they passed two black Aventadors during the city test drive?

I'd bet Lamborghini brought more than 1 of those cars, at least 3 considering the 2 that were passed while Jay was driving... as a backup in case 1 of them failed for some reason. I would venture to say that there were other VIPs there being given rides in the 2 'backup' cars. The odds of 2 of the same car, passing Jay while he drove, are high.

Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno, Jay Leno ... WHO GIVES A DAMN? What is AutoBlog's fascination with this unfunny moron? Why do car people kiss his butt? He doesn't sell cars for them. So what if he is a rich guy who likes cars and can buy what ever car he wants. Why do we have to hear about him every freaking day on this blog? Does he pay you guys? Do his PR people beg you to mention him? I am sick of him and sick of seeing his name here. It's like you guys think he is a car god. What has he ever done besides own a million cars? Screw him.

I completely concur. I mean, it's cool that he's a car nut and everything, but so what?? So are a million other people. We just don't have the means to own a fleet of exotics and supercars.

You can say what you want about the guy, he isn't funny I agree but he has an awesome car collection and he gets treated royally from all the automakers, who else was able to test drive the Aventador? Plus he has first hand experience with all of our dream cars. I'm always excited to watch another episode of Jay's car show.

I'd take this over VW's Veyron every day of the week and twice on Sunday. What an beautiful conversation between art and technology. I forgive Leno any acrimony I have ever held over the man for giving me this great video. (Heck, I can almost forgive Germany and VW's underhanded dealings with Porsche after seeing this car come out of their coffers.) I will likely die never touching one of these cars, but at least I got to have a taste.

The first year of production is already sold out so not only is Kelly a troll who thinks it's cool to lie, he/she is also a moron who doesn't know **** about the topic he/she is lying about. The even bigger moron is the one that would actually believe such a ridiculous lie.
