The black-and-white Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition is a lump of two-wheeled mean that takes cues from both the bikemaker and tuning house. The five-spoke wheels are derived from AMG, as well the aluminium radiator grilles, exhaust and Alcantara seat. What's more, the Desmodromic cam-timing system is set by hand and signed by the responsible engine technician, just as an AMG engine is built and signed by one man.

During a roundtable discussion, Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio said each bike would be numbered and the model would be a limited edition, but he didn't indicate how limited. It has already been priced in Europe at €26,000 to €27,000. It doesn't have a U.S price yet, but will be presented to dealers in the U.S. later this year and is expected to go on sale in spring of 2012. Even if you can't afford to buy it, you can't certainly afford to ogle it in the gallery of high-res photos.

      This thing makes more power than the van I use to take my bike to the track. Yay?

      I can think of ten other bikes that I'd rather have in my garage than this abomination.

        @JR
        Its main rivals are the overpriced cruisers.

          This is a power cruiser like the V-MAX. Much better that those poser cruisers that only makes noise IMO. Ducati already have a streetfighter, its called the, umm, Streetfighter. So this is not it.

          Actually, no, they aren't. This is a naked/streetfighter. Just because it has a round headlight, doesn't mean it's a cruiser.

          @ Elmo Your right, the round headlight doesn't make it a cruiser. The long wheelbase and raked out front forks make it a cruiser. And for a "naked" bike it sure has a lot of fairings.

      Any regular Ducati = beyond cool A Ducati with AMG side gills and badges is not. End of discussion.

      It's worth whatever price they want to charge - just to have an actual name to curse to the heavens when the engine tears itself apart. (This is said by the previous owner of several 80's & 90's & 00's Ducati's. All in good fun!)

      For 27k Euro, they could've done better with the silencers.

      This bike, like all Ducatis, is just sick. An AMG model should be silver, though.

      The Carbon Red model is on my short list (Spring 2012) and I think it just looks better than this one, minus the Alcantara seat.

      Looks mean, but with the current conversion rate between Euros and CDN $, that European price puts it just $8K off what I just paid for my 2011 C63 AMG!! :-)
