Smart has teamed with Swedish clothing firm WeSC to create the special edition Smart Brabus tailor (yes, another one) to be revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Based on the Smart Fortwo, the WeSC edition is powered by a 101-horsepower turbocharged gasoline engine and features a matte and high-gloss golden exterior from Brabus. The tailor-made Fortwo gets jet black alloys and a body kit.

Inside, the Smart Brabus by WeSC gets standard air conditioning, leather seats and a leather steering wheel. WeSC has even designed special headphones that give a "nod to the car's look, as can be seen in the perforated black ear pads and high-gloss golden highlights," according to Smart. The special edition Fortwo and WeSC-designed headphones will be available starting in spring of 2012, but Brabus is taking advanced orders now.

smart WeSC cooperation: Talk is silver, driving is golden

Stuttgart

smart and the street fashion brand WeSC have joined forces in a partnership and will be presenting what are quite literally the golden results of their work from 13 September at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt: the " smart BRABUS tailor made by WeSC" and the "headphones for the smart by WeSC"

WeSC have selected classic elements with elegant colour contrasting from the countless individualisation options in the smart BRABUS tailor-made range: the smart fortwo cabrio is painted in gold shades all over, partly matt, partly high-gloss, and all the colours have been created for the Swedish label by the car tuner BRABUS. The jet black wheels and the leather seats with crossways quilting bear the unmistakeable signature of the streetstyle experts. Meanwhile smart took care of the design of the 32-ohm headphones from WeSC, giving a nod to the car's look, as can be seen in the perforated black ear pads and high-gloss golden highlights.

The headphones will be available from spring 2012 via http://shop.wesc.com/ and in WeSC shops and Concept Stores all over the world. The golden city runabout will also be seen on the streets then, and advance orders can be placed via BRABUS with immediate effect. The equipment of the "smart BRABUS tailor made by WeSC" includes air conditioning, the leather BRABUS sports steering wheel with steering wheel gearshift, the 75 kW engine with turbocharging and lots of other features. The gold-plated horse-head knob, which adorns the shift lever of the WeSC original, is a one-off and not for order.

Now it will be a beafier Smart, but still just a Smart. They can try anything to sell these but people are not interested in such an expensive, ugly, tiny car. although someone will buy this one but still they are not as smart as the name of the ugly duckling "Smart".

A car made by luxury automaker, designed by a tuning company, redesigned by another company? That's just too much don't you think. The product should already stand on its own.

@SC The auto industry has a long history of 'specials'. The are produced by specialist coach builders, fashion houses, or design studio's. Nearly every major marque, has used this method to increase sales. I don't understand your objection? The modifications add a little style and chic, to an otherwise, very dull little vehicle. The Smart may still be absurd, but this model will find affectionate buyers who appreciate the novelty value. There more to selling a car than just technical capability!

That's because I don't. Tuning is a great way for youth to experiment and increase the performance and comfort to affordable cars. Similarly limited edition cars of supercars are nice addition to everyday line of options. It's just that having 3-4 or more times it starts to become overkill. Considering the car is already made for the luxury market (by Daimler/Smart) and designed to be a special edition of a luxury car (by Brabus) and now redesigned to be a limited edition of a special edition of a luxury car (by WeSC). There is so much that can be done to modify a car before it becomes just too much. Next we probably get Maybach (62 S) Landaulet by Brabus* by WeSC :P (* ironically already in the making)

Im not interrested to buy by any means. First, this is a conventionnal gasoline car that offer no technology improments. Second it's small and ugly and have poor resale value. It's not green nor high technology. Also this is a kind of car usually suggested by chris m and also he suggested to move near where you work and walk to work even if you live in canada where the winter last 6 months. There is nothing good in this car except a nerd attitude that still attrack exploited driver where the cost of fuel is severe like england, japan or italia.

So everyone is to move closer to work. How are you to do that when both adults work in seperate directions? If we move closer to her job I am farther away, if we move closer to my work she is farther away.

We do have 2 cars and working together is out of the question, I will not work for another don't care about employees factory. I was talking about the move to work he said, not that we need 2 cars. Thatis kinda clear when I said we work in differant directions.
