If you've got a penchant for mosquitos, alligators and sweltering heat, Harley-Davidson may have a deal for you. The motorcycle manufacturer's former test track is up for sale just outside of Naples, Florida. The track was originally used by Ford to test its vehicles, and features a two-mile runway with loops on either end that can be used as a four-mile circuit, as well as a separate track that covers 1.5 miles. All told, there are 6.2 miles of road on the 500-acre site along with skid pads and various other test stretches.

According to Visor Down, the property also contains a number of garages and administrative buildings. All this could be yours for the princely sum of $7.5 million, though you may have to wrestle the 'gators for track time. You can check out the full property on Google Maps by clicking here.

I see streets laid out just west of the track, and the occasional house. I'll bet the neighbors won't miss the sound of the Harleys.

A two mile straightaway? Wow, I be you can get a Harley up to nearly 50MPH on that!

I lol'ed too. Whomever gave you a -1 has no sense of humor! What's a buyer get here? A runway for planes and a "sort of" road test track with some lazy curves. No thanks, I think I'd bid on the Honda facility north of Mojave,CA first.

Don't worry about the 10 downvotes. This went right over the head of many people who didn't get what you were saying.

Well I guess we know why Harleys scrape pegs and boards so soon into a curve...

Remember those old stories how people would buy swampland in FL? The reasons we HAD (not under the current governor) concurrency standards for development was because of communities like Lehigh Acres (just north of there), where they just built streets and streets with no infrastructure or any care in the world towards sidewalks, sewers, lighting, etc. put $500 on a lot, and thought people would come. That area is as desolate as an old nuns vagina, so you wont have issues with noise thats for sure. But it should be dirt cheap at that, the values should be around $1-2Mil really...

Wow I grew up in Naples and never even knew that the track was out there. I don't think anybody knew it was out there.

There's also a big runway in the middle of the glades. Check out Dade Collier Training and Tranisiton Airport on G-Maps. IIt was built so the MIami area would be able to sustain SST operations.

High heat & Humidity...not the ideal conditions for racing or testing. Especially if it's forced induction.

Actually, for testing its a great location. High heat and humidity will stress the engine/vehicle/bike very well. The general logic then is that the vehicle/bike will perform well in normal conditions, up to these conditions. Most manufacturers test now out in arizona extremes though for heat.

Yet people and sanctioned motorsports race at places like Daytona International Speedway, Orlando Speed World, Walt Disney World Raceway, Sebring Raceway, Homestead Motorsports Complex, and Gainsville Raceway every year without any problems.

The track layout looks far too boring for SCCA.

Two mile runway. To me, that spells "dragstrip".
