Perhaps Lexus was none too happy with the open-handed slap Infiniti dealt it in the luxury-hybrid-sports sedan war. Sure, those two are the only ones playing that game, but if you're in the fight you want to win it, right? Lexus is certainly not going quietly in this battle, and the Japanese automaker plans to bring a new weapon to the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The German auto show will be the stage upon which the 2013 Lexus GS 450h makes its world debut. No details on the sporty electric-and-gas-swilling sedan have been released, but we assume the four door will utilize the current 450h's 3.5-liter V6 in combination with an electric motor. Once we land in Frankfurt and get up close with the 2013 GS 450h, we'll be sure to bring you all the juicy stats.

European debut for new full hybrid GS 450h
European debut for new CT 200h F-Sport

The new Lexus GS 450h full hybrid performance saloon will make its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show on September 13. Equipped with second-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive, the new GS is set to deliver improvements in both environmental and driving performance.

The GS 450h will be sharing the limelight with the new CT 200h F-Sport. The first development of Lexus's full hybrid luxury hatchback since its launch earlier this year, the F-Sport features bolder styling elements and handling adjustments, increasing its appeal to customers seeking a more dynamic and engaging drive.

These newcomers will be joined on the Lexus stand in Hall 8 by models from the current IS 250, IS 250C, CT, RX and LS ranges.

This car is not even out yet and this design already looks old. And not even a good old design... its a terrible design that already looks dated.

Word. This isn't going to age well. They should have stayed closer to the car's Aristo design roots. The original still looks amazing to me.

All I can say is this.. Lexus has stolen a piece of every auto manufactures "signature" designs, and incorporated them all into this one vehicle, which unfortunately has come out disastrously. Worst part is, I own a Lexus, so it's even harder for me to admit this, but if I can, anyone should see what I'm talking about.

yea they destroyed the lineage of the GS line. The distinctive style that Giugiaro laid the ground work with with the split headlights and sleek and unique tail lights of both previous models has been taken back to BORING / MUNDANE. This design is on par with a Camry although it does have styling elements like the LS which is a good or bad thing?

The front looks crisp, in its own way, and the interior is sleek, but what I absolutely CANNOT get over is the shameless Sonata rear end. I mean, come on.

I am the minority in this, but I rather like this GS more so then the out going model. If I had the money and Lexus built a GS-F with the V10 from the LFA with the same soundtrack I would buy it. Sadly even if they made it I am just a poor student right now.

Ugly "Predator" face, which is probably set to become the next me-too styling craze amongst the navel-gazers in the style studios. Otherwise, the other poster had it right...nicest looking Camry on the market.
