Earlier in the week, we got word that Tom Cruise spent time chatting with David Coulthard and getting comfortable with a Red Bull F1 car. Now, Red Bull has release video of Mr. Cruise's somewhat less than impossible mission at California's Willow Springs raceway. We'd be lying if we said we weren't impressed with the actor's ability to push the car around the track, since we know Formula 1 cars aren't the easiest machines to pilot.

Want to know what's equally impressive? When the Red Bull crew lets Tom take the helm of their helicopter for some stunt flying. Want to see how Cruise handled either vehicle? Click past the jump for the clip.

I don't know why so many people deride Tom Cruise. I really admire his attitude toward tackling projects like this He seems to jump in with full intent to do well at what ever he does, and he makes no apology for having fun while doing it.

this guy loves "toys" just like most of us on this blog. he even does his own stunts in his movies so i give him huge credit for who he is and what he achieved. Im actually jealous!

It's the religious nutjob side of him that rubs a lot of people the wrong way. If he weren't a scientologist, most people would agree that he's pretty cool.

I agree. Those scientologist nutjobs are always blowing themselves up, protesting at soldier's funerals, launching crusades, killing Indians, predicting the end of the world... oh wait

hmmm...... Scientology is rather silly, but isnt every religion?? Every religion believes in crazy superstitions for which there is no proof, and we accept them, so why not Scientologists do their thing?? I personally dont judge people on their religion, but on their actions, and in that respect, pmg68 has a really good point.

damn, lucky guy... I would like to take test drive on that F1 :))) Nice video, and seems like he's doing good with all these toys, even if I don't really like him as an actor ))) but it's just my opinion

Impressive driving, yes. But loop and roll in a chopper? Are you kidding me?

Well, say what you will, there's just something truly likable about the kid. I've driven a pace car at Daytona and considering the power he had in hand by comparison, his performance was damned impressive. Gutsy job, Tom. ~ Nemo

You don't have to like Tom Cruise to acknowledge he's multi-talented. Get over it and move on. And besides, If you don't like Tom Cruise, then why did you watch the video??
