Touting the safety of its design, a new Hyundai Veloster ad has been banned in The Netherlands due to its morbid nature.

What do you think? Is the ad too graphic to be shown on television? Sound off in the comments!

Great ad -- the shock value reminds me of the HIV 10-pin bowling ad in Australia years ago that shocked everyone to the reality of some t-r-u-t-h-s. Dr Hedbring, programsteppe.com

Get real , the Dutch would find this informative and to the point. Just some neanderthal in gov banned it. don't blame the Dutch people.

While I think it's a good idea to get out of a car on the safe side away from traffic, I don't think it's a good idea to remove the door handle. There are too many ways that could prove to be a bad idea. Amusing commercial or not, I won't be buying one of these cars.

I guess the Dutch don't have a sense of humor. I laughed out loud.

How come death always has to be black? I'll bet it's a tea party ad. The tea party can go to denmark.

^^^It's about the car you idiots. It shows the difference between the older and new model in terms of passenger safety. The newer version has only one passenger door on the outerside end (from the road).

So what happens in an emergency and you need to get out on the left side but there's no door?

Given what passes for "mainstream" in today's society? I didn't find that overly graphic or offensive in the least. It's not like they showed blood & guts or anything - geez people get a sense of humor

Its nice and i get the message but lets go deeper shall we, what if the truck hit the new car before she got out and burst into flames and landed on the side where the only door and escape is at and less say there is no flames rescue is pretty difficult when the jaws of life is made to pry open doors off it's hinges if when the door is lock and less go even deeper what if there was a baby or a small child in the back and guess what the flames are back and all you can do is watch and low and behold there is Death standing by looking at his watch and tapping his foot causing him an inconvince.(Just something to think about in the long run, think saftey Hyundai not profit).
