Most automobiles on this planet find their rubber resting on the clean floor of Jay Leno's garage at some point in their life. The latest to get the Big Dog denim treatment is the Fiat 500, and Chrysler arrived in Burbank, California with a one-of-500 Prima Edizione just for the occasion. Jay lines the car up alongside his own 1937 Fiat Topolino, which looks like a toy car by comparison, albeit a rather handsome one at that.

Leno has enough room for more than the limited-edition 500, however, and two other Fiat subcompacts get camera time. One is the 500C, which receives a brief mention while the other is a Road Race Motorsports-prepped 500 hardtop that captures quite a bit more of Leno's attention.

Jay takes both the Prima Edizione and the Road Race Motorsports 500 out for a spin. That means, despite the small subject matter, the clip posted after the jump is twice as long as the standard Jay Leno video. Still, with all this Fiat cuteness, it's definitely worth your time.

Another interesting Jay Leno video with a cool little car. If what they said in the video is right and the Abarth really does have 160+ HP, then that is going to be one great hot hatch. I was realistically expecting for it to only have about 130 or so since the stock car has 100 and its more than decent.

In Europe there are two powersteps in the Abarth version. The standard one is 135 and the Esseesse version is rated at 160, so you guys should get similar power. There were also two other versions, at 180 and 200 HP, but those were very limited production versions (Tributo Ferrari and Assetto Corse).

200 HP in a car THAT light sounds crazy. Awesome, but crazy. Honestly I think it would be fantastic if it "only" had 150 or so. If the 101hp version has good pick-up and go and doesn't feel sluggish, adding FIFTY% more power would make it a great competitor in the hot hatch segment. It definitely can't get here soon enough for the enthusiast crowd.

170 is the number for the US Abarth.

Jay Leno does indeed own a Fiat 500. The one in the video is his personal 500 Prima Edizione, number 2 of the first 500 produced.

Another Fiat 500 post? As much as I love that car, obviously they're paying you quite well.

I'm not of the mindset AB is getting paid by Fiat, that's a little silly, but I do agree that the 500 posts are getting a little ridiculous in frequency.

What is AB's fascination with everything Leno? If the guy dropped an oil can in his garage, they would cover it.

Their fascination is, that they are trying to put as many new stories in here per day as they can find. If Jay Leno does another cars related story, they post it. That's the same reason for all the Fiat 500 stories. Why are they here? Because they exist, and AutoBlog presents any car related content they come across. Not because they are promoting Jay Leno or the Fiat 500 in particular.

Leno is not impressed by the Fast and Furious edition 500. I still can't believe they only improved the engine by 10HP. They probably could have gotten more with engine grounding, good synth oil, and high performance sparks. It looks like they just wanted to add graphics and put on a tired old black hood with headlight brows. At least they didn't put on a gaudy rear wing, but I have a feeling that given more time they would have.

Sooo sick of the excessive 500 coverage on AB. This hype surrounding this thing has already made it the official PT Cruiser of this decade. Once the gotta-have-it crowd gets theirs early in it's life cycle, Fiat won't be able to GIVE them away.

What is so special about multi Air and even this car. The Ford Fiesta gets almos 10% better fuel economy (and that is not the AND has a , more powerful engine, more interior space, more range , runs on regular not premium, and IMHO looks good.
