We're in the middle of yet another slow striptease of prototypes from BMW, this time starring the 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe. We've seen patent filings and two sets of spy shots, not to mention the original 'concept' that – unsurprisingly – looks very, very similar to the almost-ready development cars caught out on the road.

For round three, we're getting our first glimpse at the four-door 6 Series' M Sport package, complete with the usual performance-ish upgrades like larger wheels, a more aggressive front fascia and revised exhaust. Truth be told, we like the M Sport additions to the awkward 6 Series nose, and we're sure the finished product will be quite a looker (especially in black). Scroll through our attached image gallery to see the sporty Sixer for yourself.

Profile looks great. Rear looks great. Front... not so much.

Actually, I'm surprised how bland this car looks from the side. Sure the roof looks low and the C-pillar has a steep rake, but I don't see anything here that wasn't on...say a Chrysler Concorde. I'm sure it will look more dynamic in person, but so far I don't see this car coming anywhere close to the Audi A7 in terms of aesthetics.

Well, haters gotta hate. Whenever pictures of a good looking BMW come up on AB, everyone starts hating... "omg it's sooooooo ugly" "MB is better" "BMW's are for brand sonbs" etc etc. I'm digging what I can see so far of this car. Just hope it stays true to the BMW name.

I wonder where this will price. Considering the coupe is $83k, this has to price more competitively to the CLS550 that starts at $71k. To the numbers geeks, a 6 Gran Coupe will probably be able to outperform the CLS since BMW is performance first, luxury second. But I'd rather wear the CLS over the 6 if its going to be stupid expensive. Either model of course, I'm still going to wait two years out to find a previously-loved unit.

Is it me, or do the proportions look off? Like the front overhang isn't very BMW like and the hood looks as tall as the rear almost? And tiny wheels. The last had 20s I believe.

Yeah, went and checked and the 6 series is a two door car. SO, this makes this either a 7 series or a 5 series picture.
