Lamborghini Aventador build/design process – Click above to watch the video after the jump

We're smitten with the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 – the Italian automaker's latest hotness. And while it's no secret that crafting the V12-powered supercar is no easy task, the folks at Lamborghini want to show the world just how much attention to detail and quality craftsmanship goes into the production of each Aventador.

To create the new supercar, Lamborghini started with sketches, transferred those drawings to a computer, began testing the materials used to craft the car and then work to build the twelve-cylinder heart found just behind the passenger compartment. It's an intense process, and the end result is a car that will no doubt go down in history as one of the greatest Lamborghini products ever made. Follow the jump to watch the video for yourself.

ohh i just figured it out. i thumbed up someones post and it gave them a -; seems opposite day came early. i could say a joke about autoblog commenting system (it was a good one too) but that would just make me feel cheesy and unoriginal. well at least it was good for laughs and i am guessing the larshefner comment no one agreed with, lol.

When did Lamborghini get a new building? Audi must be spending some real money in S'ant Agata.

I have found my first vehicle. I wonder if dad'll buy it for me. (PFFF YEA RIGHT.) Well, I always wanted a Lambo, so maybe when I grow up and get rich it'll be in my garage.

Those are some serious claims, and I don't agree with any of them. To bring any car to this level of performance is a marvel of modern engineering and physics, and the results often find themselves in less expensive cars down the line making for safer, more efficient vehicles overall. Case in point, AWD systems development - this tech started in race cars, and is now found across a spread of Lambos, Audis, and VWs which are all part of the same family tree. Given the extremely low production volume of cars like this, and the very low miles put on these cars, their impact on the environment is negligible. I wouldn't be surprised if a Prius put out more pollution over its lifespan than one of these. There are other problems with your response: Racism Insulting the ability of Lamborghini engineers; they are extremely intelligent and inventive Lead acid batteries are about the last batteries you want in an EV, and are horrible for the environment upon disposal Most electric power can still trace it's roots to fossil fuel production After blasting down the quarter mile, these EVs you're talking about will have a severe reduction in range I'm sure you've heard these arguments before; it does not make them any less true. There's no reason to thrash this car while trying to promote the development and awareness of EVs. I look forward to future comments by you, but I hope they're better presented than what you've shown here.

Love the car; but that's not a quality promo ... it's a dog and pony show. When I'm ready to spend umpteen $$$$ for a super-car ... this video doesn't make me choose a Lambo.
