The 2012 Toyota Camry is slated to arrive this fall. You can listen to Toyoda talk it up and catch a partial glimpse of it in the clip posted after the jump.

Did he say handling? I'm interested to see if the new Camry has a better driving experience than the previous one. Also too see how they execute the interior, which on the current model is very disappointing.

The previous Camry had lots of things on paper that could have made it a highly desired car in its class (as evidenced by the car of the year awards, and acceleration on par with a speed3) but that interior and the feel of the drive made it just another appliance. A very fast one with 269hp but still an appliance. If they can bring a little feel to it, it may no longer be the butt of jokes on car forums and we will all return to mocking the Corolla.

The last Corolla I drove (a 2010-model rental car) was amazingly bad. Total lack of road feel.

My expectation are pretty low. We'll just have to wait and see if what Toyota has in store for us can even come close to competing against the Sonata and Optima.

Looks like Toyota turned to Acura and it's TSX for inspiration...

The upcoming 2012 Camry actually looks more like the current Corolla. The Camry is only slightly updated and the changes are barely noticeable.

This Camry has more good looks in one headlight than the entire VW lineup put together.
