Mini JCW Cooper Coupe completes 24 Hours of Nürburgring – Click above to watch video after the jump

Mini is currently waist-deep in a world tour to show off its new Cooper Coupe. We've seen the prototype journey to the top of Mt. Washington, and now a pair of John Cooper Works Coupes have been put to the most grueling of tests in Germany. How so? Mini sent the Coupes into the Green Hell to compete in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

The Mini JCW Coupes ran strong, and, rather impressively, both crossed the finish line 24 hours after entering the 'Ring. Click past the jump to watch a highlight reel of the 5,600-kilometer journey.

Say what you will about the roof, but I wasn't really into Mini until the Coupe. Looks like a really fun car to drive.

Let me preface this by saying I own a 2006 Cooper S, and I love it. I'm not the biggest fan of this car, but I don't hate it by any means. I just wish they'd made a RWD variant of this... It would hands down be the best Mini out.

I actually like it. I have a strange feeling this is a car that will look better in person vs. photos.

Remember back when Mini was challenging Porsche to that silly race, and Porsche responded (sarcastically) that if Mini wanted to race they were more than welcome to meet Porsche at a racing venue like this? Well, in a way, there you go (not sure what class the Minis competed in).

i believe porsche took the win for its class despite being given a horsepower penalty with their hybrid racecar.
