2012 Scion tC Series 7.0 – Click above to watch videos after the jump

Nothing says "I wanna go fast" like a big red button with "Engine Start" printed on it. It's a law of science: if a vehicle features a red start button, it goes like a scalded cat. With that in mind, the 2012 Scion tC Series 7.0, which Scion hopes will attract Monster Energy swillers away from souped-up Honda Civic coupes, features just such a button (but no powertrain upgrades to back it up). It's also got a bone-obliterating stereo and body-color interior accents.

Outside, you get gloss black 17-inch wheels, and a special, Series 7.0-only yellow-orange paint scheme. And how about an endorsement from the ruler of Mount Olympus himself? Hop the jump for the bolt thrower's take on the new tC.

Lawl @ girl swimming on the roof. Also, what happened to Scion being a value brand? The tC use to cost $16k and it came with a segment leading interior (have you seen Scion interiors lately?). I know this is a "special" version, but even the base model isn't cheap.

18" wheels not 17". Actually, 18's are standard on all tC's now. These are just gloss black as opposed to the standard silver/gray stock ones.

Let's think about this for a second. $21,625 for a tC with some minor cosmetic changes with no power upgrade or $22,205 for a Civic Si with much more power and also cosmetic changes. I think I'll go for the Si.

      Porsche disputes your push-start assertion.

only an idiot would buy a scion when you can get a 2012 mustang v6 that is RWD and will blow the doors off of it (and look better on top of all that) a TC isnt a performance car, its a car for people who want a VW bug but think theyre above it.

Um why are you comparing this to a Mustang V6? 2 totally different markets.

Don't you understand? The Mustang V6 beats everything. Want a minivan? You can fit 2 kids in the back seat and 2 more in the trunk. 6 seater! Suck it Odyssey!

Sure, one market is for people who want decent performance at a decent price and get it, the other is for the ones who don't get it.

I could care less if any Mustang would "blow the doors off" of a tC... I still wouldn't buy one (the Mustang). I owned a first gen tC and loved it (after a lot of suspension work). I autox'd it for about 4 years and had a great time. When it came time for upgrade, a Mustang was NEVER on my list. It may be a great car for some people, but for many of us, it might as well be a Daewoo - I just have zero interest in one. My upgrade? A 2011 WRX. It was well worth it.

I like the rwd part. But the Mustang just looks so damn cheap and the interior is just embarrassing.

Sad really. Scion could've been a car with massive potential to compete against Honda's Si or Mazdaspeed's Masdaspeed3 if only Toyota still had the balls to make performance cars anymore. Imagine a 2ZZ-GE-like engine in a small car like this with some factory suspension updates. But that'll never happen because... Toyota = No Balls.

best defintion of toyota TC with a 2.0 turbo or super charged and you get a winner, if you put in there awd well you have a proper little car

If Toyota = no balls, then what do you call the IS-F, LFA and the FT-86 that is due out at the end of the year? I'm a car nut through and through, gas for blood, fart CO2 and NoX, but I get that not everyone wants "ZOMG RWD 300hp". Sheesh.

LoL, downvoted. I forgot this is AB. I should've said that they should put a Prius engine in there instead. That would've pleased the masses over here on the comments section.

I just up voted everyone so far... I don't think these special addition Scions are fooling anyone. Lotta coin for zero upgrade in performance. When ever I see these special additions I can't help but think of a room full of well dressed Japanese men deciding what American "monster energy swilling," adolescent males will buy (and choosing a new red start button!)

The RS 5.0 was by far the best RS tC. Actual TRD performance upgrades. Springs, sway bar, exhaust (ok, so the exhaust isn't really much performance, but still). And the wheels were even pretty nice.

I dig ! A nice drop will set the car off right... no wheels needed. Now to sex it up with more TRD goodies :)
