From left to right: Petra, Bernie and Tamara Ecclestone

Petra Ecclestone is the daughter of Bernard Charles Ecclestone, better known to the motorsports world as Bernie. Mr. Ecclestone is the president and CEO of Formula One Management, and his reported net worth is around $1.5 billion. Petra must get to play with a fair amount of that cash, because she just bought the most expensive house in the United States.

Originally listed at $150 million, the Holmby Hills mansion is a 57,000-square-foot property that includes a bowling alley, salon and 100-car garage. It was built by the late TV Producer Aaron Spelling, and his wife has since downsized to a 15,500-square-foot condo.

The home has been listed since 2009, and the asking price stayed at $150M despite the economic downturn. That makes sense, seeing as most people who can afford the property most likely managed to "stay afloat" during these rough times. Petra is one of those people, and it's been reported that her first offer was $75 million. The actual sale price hasn't been disclosed yet, but the deal is in escrow.

The large estate will serve as Petra Ecclestone's Los Angeles home base. She also owns a six-story London home, which cost $90.9 million. It would seem that F1 is a good business to be involved in.

I know that his wife is pretty tall, but Bernie has to wonder if maybe he had a little help from the gardening staff in fathering his daughters..

How could she possible come from someone that looks like him? Obviously her mother Slavica was in it for the money, and contributed that vast majority of genes.

Thinking the exact same thing. If I looked like him and my daughters looked like that I might start keeping a close eye on the pool guy.

I think for THIS story, we could use a large photo gallery of images.... not of the house. Who cares about the stupid house. Pics of Ecclestone's offspring.

Jeff George was right to tell Bernie, "Thanks, but no thanks", and send F1 packing from Indianapolis. The prestige was nice, but from what I've heard of Bernie's terms, they were outrageous. They essentially guaranteed that nobody would make money but him..

He looks like a Hugh Heffner in that photo. How are his 2 daughters that much taller than him? I understand they wear heels but they are a solid 6 inches taller than him. Owell I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of the money. I honestly don't think I could do that with my money no matter how much I had.. Maybe if it were my primary house that I lived in and had a bunch of family/kids living there. This is a "vacation" house though. Why waste that much money on a house there? Anyone else think the heiress may go through the family fortune fairly quickly? $210million in only 2 homes. I'm sure she is probably going to buy 3 or 4 others on islands somewhere plus all the cars, expensive yachts etc.

Have you seen his ex-wife (their mother)? She's a foot taller than him. He's 5'2" and she's 6'2"
