Forza 4 and Kinect in action – Click above to watch video after the jump

Polyphony Digital took its sweet time bringing us GT5. It took five years for the game to arrive in stores and the homes of PS3 fans across the world. Turn 10 Studios clearly works a bit quicker, and the next chapter in the Forza series is on schedule for a late 2011 arrival. Forza 4 will no doubt be packed with slick graphics and drool-inducing vehicles, but the gaming company is also taking advantage of another Microsoft tie-in – Kinect.

The Kinect system for the Xbox 360 "sees" a players movements. Kinect allows the player to interact with the game, without using controllers. Forza 4 will allow a user to drive a car using his or her hands to mimic a steering wheel. It's more than playing "kiddie vroom vroom" though. Kinect will allow you to look into turns, take tours of the vehicles and walk around the parked cars.

Sounds kind of crazy? Click past the jump to check it out for yourself.

I'll just have the game thank you very much. It's either joypad or an actual steering wheel, not pretending to have one.

Kinect is great for kiddie and dancing games, but utterly worthless for games that most gamers play. Including Forza.

My problem here isn't the use of Kinect, it is that they did this instead of releasing a new racing wheel. The actual Microsoft wheels are hard to find and not sold any more (and the old ones would melt), no generic USB wheels work, they have to be Xbox specific (so you can't use one from the PS2 or PS3 or PC), and the only really good wheel + pedal set is like $300 (Fanatec). Is there even a viable 360 wheel + pedal set with force feedback that is still for sale for a reasonable price?

I call bullshit on the demonstration. He was trying to sync his movements to prerecorded video and he was WAY off. Steering = out of sync and the hand on screen flying up at 3:00 before he even moves his hand.

Second that. Who's doing the brake and gas pedal?

Yeah, the "walkaround" didn't sync up quite right, and you're definately right about the hand coming up on the screen before his did.

Looking into the turns would be super awesome! Steering and accelerating/braking? Not so much.

Are people that inept that they cant read or even listen to people speaking? What part of OPTION do people no get? bitch bitch moan moan "blah blah blah i dont want kinect i want a steering wheel blah blah blah" PAY ATTENTION KINECT IS AN OPTION, NOT REQUIRED!!!!!!! OPTION OPTION OPTION OPTION. You can still use your controller, you can still use your steering wheel. In fact NOTHING new is being forced upon you. Its like bitching that you have the option of an automatic when purchasing a car when a manual is still available and what you want. IDIOTS! seriously people come on, the world cant be this stupid.

Your comment was so inane, childish, and unnecessary that I felt compelled to go the extra effort of logging in to vote you down. And then to further write this explanation so you knew.
