It was probably not the kind of publicity Fiat was looking for when they found out Nicole Polizzi, also known around the world as "Snooki" from MTV's Jersey Shore, was behind the wheel of a Fiat Multipla in Florence, Italy.

According to TMZ, Polizzi rammed the car into a police cruiser, sending two officers to the hospital, where they were treated for bruises, whiplash and cuts.

Ironically, the police in the car were assigned to protect the Jersey Shore cast. Polizzi was in the car with castmate Deena Nicole Cortese and two production staffers.

Snooki was taken into custody following the crash, and was released. She could still face charges.

This is not Snooki's first run in with the law while taping a Jersey Shore episode. Last year, she was arrested in Seaside Heights, N.J., for disorderly conduct after she passed out face-first into the sand following a day of drunken debauchery.

Snooki is known to have a BMW as her own personal ride.

Fiat is amidst a re-launch of the Italian brand in the U.S. after a 27-year hiatus.
