BMW 1 Series M Coupe vs Audi TT RS - Click above to watch video after the jump

Here's a matchup made in heaven. The crew from Motor Sport Magazine took the time to pit the BMW 1 Series M Coupe against a fitting rival – the Audi TT RS. The two German sports coupes go fender-to-fender on track, and thanks to a few well-placed video cameras, we get to ride along for the action. There's plenty of tail-wiggling glory from the smallest of the M family, but the TT RS seems more than capable of keeping the pace. With 340 horsepower to the 335 ponies of the TT RS, the 1 Series M Coupe has a slight power edge, but with all four wheels pulling in the Audi, the two are fit rivals.

While the video doesn't actually capture any legitimate competition, it's still fun to watch – and hear – these two pint-sized bruisers frolic around in a semi-controlled, off-street venue. We just wish it was us behind the wheel. Click past the break to check out the clip for yourself.

I like the TT RS, to bad we don't get it in the states.

I'm sure they announced that it would come to N.A. in the summer/fall of this year. They announced at the Toronto auto show the Canadian debut for fall of 2011. I'm sure America is getting it as well. I'll have to check once again though.

Nice to see true professionals driving at the limit with no safety gear. Does this mean I can run my M1 the same way? Wait, I don't own one. Oh well, disregard my comments then.

Wow, a bunch of BMW fanboys on here... yet again. Anyone throwing out a positive comment about the Audi is instantly rated down. I wonder how many of you actually own a BMW?

I do and I bet you don't know what BMWs are about. I love Audis, but for an enthusiast nothing gives you as much sporty feel and feedback as a Bimmer. Plus the cars have perfect weight distribution and let's face it, if you're looking for a sporty sedan, it's gotta be RWD.

I'll take the RS any day, for the looks, AWD and ridiculous acceleration times. Having heard both, I can definitely say the 5-cylinder sounds better.

I'd take the TT-RS anyday. On any real road with the average enthusiast it will be faster and safer oh and you could even drive in the rain or snow.

I agree enough to upboat the comment. But the 1M is only going to be in production for one year, and you can get that TTRS engine in the RS3, as well. It's a little less exclusive. On a side note, the TT is just too damned expensive in standard trim. I could not justify 40k+ for that 2 litre.

the audi is 65k are they off their rocker? as usual overpriced. the s5 is m3 money with 335 performance this .its a no brainer if you want a car like this you take the 1m and keep the change. if you want to spend 65k get the king m3

Would the RS be able to pull the same skipad numbers I wonder, in a comparison of lateral grip between the two..
