Heffner Twin-Turbo Audi R8 V10 – Click above for high-res image gallery

It's hard to argue with the potency of the Audi R8 5.2 FSI. With it's 525-horsepower V10 mounted amidships, the Gallardo-based engine is more than enough motivation for mere mortals. However, some folks out there felt slighted by the fact that Audi detuned the Lamborghini-sourced mill for four-ringed application. Enter the folks at Heffner Performance who decieded to rectify the situation by sticking two massive Garrett turbochargers into the R8's rear-end.

The result? A 725-horsepower twin-turbocharged Teutonic terror that runs from zero to Ludicrous Speed faster than Spaceball One. Oh, and those 725 ponies are measured at the wheels.

Check out Heffner's work in the gallery below and click past the jump to get a taste of the boosted R8 in action.

Wow! sounds great. Audi R8 or Ford-GT? I think someone should let me try them back to back, so I can decide.

Just what I need to make it to the 7-11 in a hurry just before it closes...

What can I say, I get the munchies at night !

Oh sweet mother efffing baby Jesus.
I have to go watch that again....

So Hef, what's up with that Raptor sitting there?
Man, that turbo set up is better than art, to bad it has to be covered up.

Sounds very cheap with those trubo whistles. Really, it is luxury sports car, not one of those street racer's. It is way better without those silly turbos.

i'd rather have the black ford raptor in the beginning of the video.

This is ridiculous, unnecessary, obnoxious, and harmful for the environment. I want one.

      Fantastic sound!

Also, why does the blog talk about the V10, but the film is about the V8....

      Very Nice. How much? ;)

Didn't Audi give up on the turbocharged R8 after burning a couple up on the Nurburgring? I remember seeing pictures. Hence the V10 normally aspirated. Hope Heffner has better luck!

      very, very nice.

dark grey with darker carbon trim is a good, stealthy look for the R8, too.

It is going to need every ounce of stealth to keep that car out of impound.

This is cool and all but... is this really the first time someone has souped up the R8? I fail to see why this is news worthy...
