Forza Motorsport 4 – Click above to view video after the jump

Someone at Turn 10 Studios has apparently "leaked" (sure, guys) a fully-polished, high-quality sneak peek at its upcoming Forza Motorsport 4 to YouTube. The newest installment of Forza leverages Kinect technology, allowing players to open the doors and hoods of their cars with hand motions and fire the engine from the driver's seat. During a race, Kinect also lets players look around corners by detecting head movement.

Turn 10 says its goal is to produce the best-looking racing sim of 2011, employing methods like image-based lighting to get as much photorealistic quality as they can out of each car and track. Turn 10 also says that Forza 4 will have the most extensive range of models to choose from, with cars from over 80 manufacturers. Plan on slipping Forza 4 into your XBOX 360 in October. In the meantime, check out the "leaked" trailer after the jump.

Wow, I didn't think they can make this game better, but they actually did. Can't wait for this to come out.

looks like the next xbox will be coming sooner than we thought.

I still have my LAUNCH DAY 360! Sure it's been fixed a by Microsoft twice (for free) but after over 5 years... I think I'm ready for whatever they have next. I have a PS3 as well but I honestly just use it for Blu-Ray.

I hope not! I've had my xbox for over a year and I just bought a PS3......don't think the wife would go for a new xbox just yet!

Ugh why does this have to come out my senior year of college?! I'm never going to graduate haha! Seriously this game looks amazing! I wonder if they added a more in-depth modification system (not that it is bad now)?

It's nice to see active aerodynamics, but how about racing in the wet? Racing at a time of day other than what is apparently just mid-day for every single track location and event?

I'm a big Forza 3 fan, other than Turn 10 trying to make me purchase an entirely new copy of the game to get the "Ultimate Edition" cars, but these are a couple of the things that seem a bit more important to me than whether or not I can push buttons and open the door with Kinect.

Anyone else see Justin Bebier in the video? lol

Nothing about night racing... I hope that it gets included.

The Kinect stuff is mostly dumb, but I like the ability to look into corners. Having to use the other stick to look is pretty annoying in 3. The game looks fantastic, and I see they threw in my home track, Indianapolis (I hope they included the oval and both the F1 and MotoGP road courses). Looking forward to buying this one!

Totally agree about the Kinect crap. Really discredits the quality of the game by pandering to people who think motion controls are "neat" or "cool". The great thing about Microsoft is that they'll have no qualms with also making a wheel/pedal peripheral to sell along side it, which means people can play the game properly.

How is headtracking supposed to work?

When I sit in my car and turn my head left I begin to see out the side window. When I sit in my lounge and turn my head left I begin to see more and more wall....
I like the head tracking but that is all I'd want Kinect for. Well, poking around buttons and switches on the dash might be fun too. I have a 360 wheel and a projector. Only thing this is missing is 3D to be pretty much what I dreamed games would become when I was a kid.
I really with they would release a new wheel instead of Kinect for this. The older wheel is so hard to find, and Kinect, while "neet", won't provide any feedback, which is an essential part of a driving simulation.

I too am confused about the 'looking into corners' feature. If you turn your head, you look away from the TV, so how is that going to work?
If I turn my head to "look into a corner", I'm no longer going to be looking at the TV screen.

Just imagine if you were to sneeze... ;)
I thought that as well, but the sensitivity of the movement will probably be exaggerated so that you only have to glance slightly for it to track your head movement.

i love forza 3, i pre-ordered it at gamestop back in August 2009, and still have it to this day, im a level 50, my record is 563 wins 58 losses. i have 21 cars and i LOVE the variety of cars on this game as well as the mind blowing graphics! however, i hate kinect, and i hope that this will be available without kinect requirement. can someone please tell me if there will be a non kinect version of forza 4?
Kinect is only an option. You can still use a controller or steering wheel.

Bout goddamn time they fixed the lighting
        • 3 Years Ago
The light refracting through the taillight at 0:34 literally made me drool on myself.

      Gran turis what!?
Agreed...I own Forza3 and GT5 and to be honest, GT5 is a major letdown, apart from the really nice graphics, I can't see much improvement over GT4. I also prefer Forza's car line up much better, GT5 has way too many Japanese car's that no one really cared for in first place
