Russian drifters take on Moscow's streets – Click above to watch video after the jump

Fans of drifting can be found all over the globe. The sport started in Japan and has quickly spread around the world, including a recent Formula Drift stop in Abu Dhabi. In fact, drifting seems to have taken hold in a land as far away as Russia. As an aside, if you search for "russian drifting" on Google, the first few links are for monitoring ice flows. But we digress...

A pair of sideways-driving enthusiasts have taken to the Moscow streets with their rubber-destroying machines to prove that drifting is alive and well in Russia. Shot in high-definition, this is no shaky Flip cam-shot clip but rather a surprisingly well done video of two drivers taking control of their cars. Check it out by clicking past the jump.

So....if you can afford to make a high quality video like that, why can't you afford to replace your one headlight that's out before hand?

      Got some talent though.

Some modifiers will take a headlight out in order to get more air into the intake:

It's a growing trend amongst street racers, a lot of people do it here in Asia.

Look ahead at 5:03. The headlights are perfect.

It seems like the video wasn't just one take, probably sustained some damage while filming over the course of hours, maybe even several days.

Very cool video, I downloaded it to my phone to share, its that cool.

@capitalfellow, yes, I've heard removing the whole headlight capsule if the intake is behind it, like it is in my Grand Prix. But the headlight was THERE, it just wasn't working. If it hadn't been there, I wouldn't have asked.

so the dark one I recognize as a Nissan Silvia, an S15 I believe, but what's the lighter one? could it be an S13, (240SX in the States) with a chop job?
        poor chopped S13 :(
yea, the lighter one is either a S13 240SX or 180SX, whatever they chose to call it over there.

These guys must have some serious problems with their steering because they seemed to have a really hard time keeping straight.

Dragtimes.info is the one with the amazing 800hp GTR on youtube putting the smack down on a modded ZR1 and a Liter+ bikes on russian highways...

Pretty sure Russia is closer to Japan than the US.

Talent behind both the camera and the wheel. Well done.

      From the video information
      "Drivers (Team Dragtimes):
Evgeniy Satyukov (1st place in individual competition -- Russian Drift Series 2010)
Geprgiy Stepanyan (2nd place in individual competition -- Russian Drift Series 2010)"

Something tells me they had permission to do this. Excellent driving by 2 professionals. And the 240 truck is awesome.

        Ha yep!

I like how you can see the tire marks on the road from the last time they took the same corner, trying to get the shot.
