2012 Infiniti M Hybrid in "Remember" – Click above to watch video after the jump

Infiniti believes its new M Hybrid is the first such vehicle built for people who actually enjoy driving. With 360 horsepower on tap, they might just be right. Yes, we are aware of the Lexus GS450h, which can run from 0-60 miles per hour in just 5.2 seconds. So is Infiniti for that matter because, in a new spot that has been playing during the NCAA's March Madness tournament, the automaker takes a not-so-subtle jab at the hybrid Lexus sport sedan.

Dubbed "Remember," the clip briefly takes a look back at the past 100 years of hybrid technology. Ultimately, the M Hybrid comes into view as it blows past a Lexus GS450h sitting at a stop-light. From there, we see the Infiniti drifting down the road as the narrator tells us why we're going to love it. He must have a soothing voice... because the clip does a pretty darn good job of getting our attention. Click past the jump to see if it does the same for you.

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but I really don't find Infiniti's design language of late to be at all attractive. Specifically with this car, but also with the G37 and the FX as well...there are just too many curves in odd places, the whole thing comes off as lumpy, graceless, and just somehow...off. The previous gen of all 3 vehicles looked far better IMO.

The tech for this M hybrid may be impressive, but they're going to have to put it in a prettier wrapper than this to get me interested.

        no way

you must have never seen either of the cars next the each other
the new M in the flesh is by far the best design infiniti has ever had
the G37 with the updated front end (in 2010) is also much better looking in person to the previous version G's

but I will give you the FX is a question. I loved the previous but I also love the new one

still i'll stick with the G, though the interior of the new M is IMO perfect. I love it, and I think it surpasses anything in it's class...bar none

The M is a ugly car... especial in base non-sport form. The body and its shape isnt attractive IMO too many hump and bumps and droppy lines. Looks a mess...and that rear end doesn't keep up with the front like they lost the will to finish the cars rear strong.

There's been dozen of threads and blogs and news about Nissan making its own hybrid technology. This is all Nissan!!

Do you really think Toyota would lend the competition its brand new trick before putting it into their own line of cars?!

This is what I've asking for the makers of hybrid cars. No need to make them look strange (like prius), make it a regular looking car with proper gas mileage. Performance plus a good mpg, is a very attractive statement when shopping for a new car. Good job Infiniti.
Remember, the "strange looks" on the Prius are neccessary to get the most amount of economy.

no you won't, not if you want to have fun...once you step on that gas it's all but 16mpg if you're lucky

now if you baby it, maybe you can get in teh low 20's but then where is the fun

oh, and don't put a Pontiac in hte same line as infiniti..they are utter crap by comparison

Hybrids actually do fairly well in aggressive driving styles since they have regenerative brakes and you get a big boost in acceleration from the electric motors. The mileage isn't great when driven aggressively but compared to the drop a regular car gets they actually do a lot better.

That almost almost looked like an ad for the lexus, instead of the infiniti
        • 4 Years Ago
The Lexus ad looks more like they were influenced by the Inception movie...which was slick.

I'll drive my G8 in 4-cylinder mode all day on the highway and get better mpg than this thing, and have more fun doing it.

      The Infiniti is uglier. Period

Nice car (of course, it's Infiniti) but "Infiniti believes its new M Hybrid is the first such vehicle built for people who actually enjoy driving."? Sorry, but so far, the only company that pulls that off IMO is Porsche. Specifically, this one: http://www.car-smart.ws/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cache/af41a_Porsche-911-GT3-R-Hybrid-3.jpg

As an Infiniti Fan boy and G37S 6MT owner, I wish they'd offer that drivetrain in the G37 with 35 MPG. Even if priced at $50k, that'd be a great buy IMO.

Combine it with a 6MT and Infiniti would make me a 2-time customer.

I'd take this car for sure, but I'm sick of the commercial after the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. EVERY FRIGGIN COMMERCIAL BREAK.

My car, you're one of them
You say you're good on gas
      But you're one of them

You don't want to see me drive
You don't want me to save
      'cause you're one of them
