Peugeot 3008 HYbrid 4 commercial – Click above to watch video after the jump

During the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Peugeot opened reservations for its 3008 HYbrid4 Limited Edition model. The French automaker noted that only 300 of the special edition diesel-electric hybrids would be built. After just nine days, Peugeot has announced that the entire limited run has sold out.

The cost of purchasing one of the 300 limited edition 3008 HYbrid4 varied depending upon country. However, its listed price tag in France was a rather lofty €41,500 ($58,175 U.S. at the current exchange rate), which makes this even more remarkable. Peugeot expects to deliver the first batch of HYbrid4s by the end of summer. Hop the jump to watch Peugeot's 3008 HYbrid4 clip. Hat tip to David!

Stone me! I thought that this price would be more like that for the full plug-in!
Peugeot had previously said that they hoped that the hybrid would have only a 2-3,000 Euros premium to conventional models.
Let's hope that this was a special, selected customers only, rip-off price!
I love the through the road system, and really hope that they can do it at a price which can reasonably be reclaimed before the year 3000 in savings on petrol.

I'm quite sure, it is. The normal one must stay below 30k€ to be anything interesting - even though the target for cars like this are families, which are *very* interested in "saving the planet".
