2011 Campagna V13R – Click above for high-res image gallery

Campagna Motors is releasing a new model this spring to go along with its now-famous T-Rex. The Campagna V13R was announced a couple years ago and follows in its older sibling's footsteps, combining motorcycle and car technology into an exclusive three-wheeled toy.

Campagna says the V13R makes 122 horsepower from a Harley-Davidson 1250 cc Revolution V-twin. The new trike debuted at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona during Daytona Bike Week, and the company reports it has already gotten orders from the U.S., Canada and Asia.

If you want one, now would be a good time to get in line. Campagna's not saying exactly how many of the $48k trikes they plan to build, but are calling it a limited-production affair. Of course, we should also mention that you could also get a Morgan Threewheeler for around the same price...

After the T-REXTM, Campagna Motors Will Launch Its V13RTM This Spring

The new model, equipped with an Harley Davidson®'s engine will be presented in a pre-launch at Daytona's Bike Week

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 2, 2011) - After spending five years in research and development, Campagna Motors is proud to announce the beginning of the limited production of its new model: the V13R. Even though the official launch is only scheduled for this spring, this hybrid between a motorcycle and a car is now ready to roll worldwide and a limited number of vehicles are offered during the pre-sale period. For those impatient to see the V13R in action, it will be possible to get a first peek of this dream machine during Bike Week at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona, from March 4 to 13.

"This vehicle has all the driving quality of our well-known T-REX, but it now offers a style much closer to a roadster, which should please a whole new category of clients, explains David Neault, associate vice-president at Campagna Motors. Over the years, we have realised that there was a demand for a new model, something different and more classic than the T-REX. With the V13R, we know for sure that we will surpass all expectations."

Following the rumour that a new model was to be offered by Campagna Motors, several orders coming from the United-States, Canada, the Middle East and Japan have already been placed.

An extraordinary vehicle

Entirely handmade, this reverse trike is powered by a 1250cc Harley Davidson's engine that develops 122 horsepower. The V13R is offered in five colours with a few options. This unique vehicle, offering the driving quality of a sport car and the freedom of a motorcycle, is offered at a starting price of $ 47,999. It is usually necessary to possess a motorcycle driver's licence to drive it.

Contrary to what one may think, the V13R is very spacious. As an example, Hugo Girard (the Determinator), one of the world's strongest man, as also fallen for the V13R. "With my 6'2" and 330 pounds, it is very hard for me to find a vehicle that is exotic and comfortable. What I like about the V13R is that on top of offering a killer look and room for my legs, it has a powerful Harley Davidson's engine! »

I have always wondered how these are registered and/or licensed, as a car or a motorcycle? Does it depend on the state you are in too?
depends on the state, usually as a motorcycle. i worked for a dealer for campagna, and in my state there was no legal classification for them so we actually only sold to out-of-state buyers! we also had one of these v13's back when it was made by Cirbin, before combining forces with Campagna. It's a fun thing to drive, like the t-rex, but overpriced. Has appeal with the harley/hotrod crowd that's too old or disabled to ride.

The face only its mother could love. BLECH. Make mine a Morgan, please!
I don't know, this thing is rather hideous.
Same price point as a Morgan? No contest...

Saw it cruising Main St. at Daytona last week, draws a lot of attention like the T-Rex, which is very cool looking still... unless you try to get in or out of it. No roof should help that. Ill stick to my motorcycle or a used Miata for 5k. I think I would prefer more windshield on it.

Very cool, just like the T-rex, but I never understood the point of these things. As far as I can tell they don't do anything particularly well. I can think of better ways to blow 50k. A go-kart with a Busa engine comes to mind...

They don't do anything well? The T-Rex accelerates to 60 in under 5 seconds and handles just as good as an Elise.

      That's one ugly mug.
