JabbaWockeeZ and the 2011 Ford Explorer – Click above to watch the video after the jump

Ford has called on the JabbaWockeeZ dance crew to illustrate that the V6 in the 2011 Ford Explorer can handle the same tasks that last year's V8 did while netting better fuel economy along the way. For those of you who don't know, JabbaWockeeZ are perhaps the best hip-hop dance crew around right now.

If their routines describing the performance of Ford's engines are anything to go by, 2011 Ford Explorer owners won't be able to tell any appreciable difference between their car's 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and the 2010 model's 292-hp V8.

Even with two fewer cylinders, Ford was able to pull the new six to within two horsepower of its older sibling. Impressive, especially when you consider that the 2011 Explorer nets 17/25 miles per gallon city/highway while the 2010 model only mustered up 14/20 mpg. We'll let JabbaWockeeZ explain the rest. Follow the jump to watch the video.

Still could care less..and this is from a Ford fan. The new explorer needs an eddie bauer model, a real tan interior, and the lower cladding needs to be painted on ALL models minus the base(understandable). For what they charge for this pos I should be able to get what I WANT..yes Ford, new concept..actually not, you used to offer much more, not anymore. Simplicity LOSES buyers. Options attract them.

Notice they forget to mention Torque......
Moot point! 98% of people that drove an Explorer in the past and 100% in the future don't need truck torque! They need more space and utility and a car like way of driving!

The new Explorer delivers in my opinion! It looks very nice too! If I were in the market for an SUV / CUV this is absolutely the one I'd get!

"That's the first thing I thought. The old 3v 4.6L makes 300lb/ft torque, while the new v6 makes a measly 255lb/ft. That's terrible especially since the 5.0's in my '97 and '01 both have more torque then the new V6."

First of all, 300lb/ft is good, but 255 is measly? Second, how is it terrible for the new V6 to make 255, compared to a 5.0 V8??? The V6 has 1.5 liters less!

What a complete and utter waste of bandwidth!

      Noisy - horrible - non-informative.

But then again today's youth are not educated in critical thinking skills.

Waste of time and money, Ford.

      Well that explains everything!

Glad to see Ford putting out a well-researched, technical video showing the differences between their old V8 and the new V6 so informed consumers can make an educated decision.

Kool dancing..... but was that about a engine??

My 2011 Explorer gets about the same gas mileage as the older V8. Seriously. I haven't seen 25mpg coasting down a hill.
