James Glickenhaus' Ferrari P4/5 Competizione – Click above to watch the video after the jump

Way back in October, we showed you the first installment of Inside P4/5 Competizione, a documentary about James Glickenhaus' now-iconic racecar. The second installment of this ongoing story is now on YouTube, following the saga of the car's build and the hype that has surrounded it from the beginning. Throughout the documentary, Glickenhaus insists that media attention was never the goal or expectation, but that he just wanted to go racing.

The video covers everything from the the obsessive web coverage of the car to Ferrari's attempts to make the project stop. The footage is splattered with images of the P4/5 Competizione both on the track and in various stages of undress, which is always a good thing. Couple that with a fantastic soundtrack and Glickenhaus's indomitable attitude, and you have the recipe for a winner. See for yourself in the video after the break.

I wasn't aware so many Ferrari people drank juice pouches (ok well I spotted 2). Must be a race car driver thing to prefer drinking from a straw.

That car looks raw and mean though. I like that it's not too pretty.

The fact that they were going for a "pretty" car is what makes it so damned beautiful.

this car looks like a gigantic door stop haahah.

Am i the only person that thinks the p4/5 is ugly as sin?
Can't stand it. The original looks way WAY better. The Ford GT was a much MUCH better execution of the same idea.

I agree...It's ugly...From the very long front overhang to the ridiculous bubble roof...It's something out of the old super marionette shows like the Thunderbirds!

As the great Clarkson once said: "You only THINK it's beautiful because it's a Ferrari."

When I die and go to heaven .I hope this will be the car I get to cruise around in for eternity.

      (comment system hungry today, eh?)
"Glickenhaus insists that media attention was never the goal or expectation, but that he just wanted to go racing."

      -BS!

Erm, I mean the car is cool and all, but that statement, and a several of Jim's in the vid are at least a LITTLE bit disingenuous.

If your goal is to "just go racing", then just build the car, keep to yourself and work your way into the races however you can, WITHOUT the pressers, docuvids, facebook pages, websites, etc.

I love how people who say they don't care about marketing immediately go out and hire a marketing firm and tracking those stats (cough, 4:46, cough).

Nevertheless: great design, great idea; have fun out there!

But then what does the masses get to look at?!

I am kinda glad he is so open about it, so I can see plenty of media on this awesome machine.
