Richard Hammond's 2008 Morgan Aeromax – Click above for high-res image gallery

Richard Hammond pretty much gets to live every car guy's fantasy: get paid an exorbitant sum to sample, drive and comment on dream cars. Hammond maintains quite a collection of his own exotics, which until recently included a 2008 Morgan Aeromax that he waxed lyrical about on Top Gear.

Despite his purported love of BMW V8-powered Aeromax, he's decided to sell it through Surrey, England's Mole Valley Specialist Cars. Being that it has celebrity pedigree, precious few babied miles, and is one of only six right-hand-drive manual cars, the asking price is a heady £99,950, or about $159,000.

I was going to say the same thing about the headlights/washers. My boss has a Morgan and I was looking at it and thought those are my MINI's headlights on an exotic car??

Morgan is one example of the worst of British kit car "design" and thirties cars in general, with odd proportions and added little lumps and bulges now known as cellulite in another context. True, there are some nice cars of the era, particular in the ACD garage, and a few Frenchy Bugattis and a some teardrop Figonis, etc.

So this is what inspired the silly Mitsuoka Himiko.

Forgot to mention the fact that it was involved in a collision.

Nice retro art deco design from the '30s. Reminds me very much of the Bugatti Atlantic auctioned recently for $ 30m + !!

      Didn't Hammond crash this one?

IMHO, I think the Aeromax is the epitome of a timeless design. It will never go out of style.

looks like that car that peter griffin was driving into the tunnel in that family guy episode where he was insecure about his penis.

        Holy crap! You're right.

I think there was one of these at CNC yesterday. THINK being the operative phrase. Given the MP4-12C was a stall over I didn't even look in the Morgan's direction :P. Pity, it looks pretty cool in these photos.
