Take a walk-around the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – Click above to watch video after the jump

The first Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has touched down on United States soil. It's one of only five examples produced that will hit the same top speed as the 268-mile per hour world-record setting version. The other 35 examples to be built will be limited to just 258 mph, because, you know, that extra 10 mph would simply be overkill.

Symbolic Motors of San Diego, California is the lucky dealership holding the keys to this amazing machine. It retails for $2.58 million, though we're pretty sure that this one was snatched up before it even arrived Stateside. Click past the jump for a video walk-around of the very first Bugatti Veyron Super Sport to hit the States. Thanks for the tip, Mark!

I was never too sure about the Veyron's design, and if you told me there was a version with a whole lotta carbon fiber and bright orange bits, I would've told you it sounds like a ricer. And I would've been wrong.

      Jebus I want this car.

I have absolutely spotted a blue carbon fiber SS a couple months ago on the street. (Topanga Canyon, in between Malibu and Calabasas)

It was unmistakably an SS, pulled over on the side of the road. I stopped, got out and had a full walk around before the SS started up (wow!) and drove away.

I'm sure the owner is used to having people gawk at his car, but c'mon, walking around it while he's still inside it probably just weirded him out. Not to mention these spectacular cars aren't renowned for their outward visibility. That said, is the rear end as wide in person as it looks in photos? It's such a badass....ass.

Maybe AB meant this particular pumpkin colored one is the first one in the U.S. because if I'm not mistaken there are already two SS versions of this car in the U.S. including the Blue one that was at the Miami Festival of Speed.

What an incredible machine - there is not a man alive who can argue that.

I'd let myself get kicked 1000 times in the balls to have one of these.
I'd sell my entire family into slavery for one of these

Sorry but this wasn't the first one. There is one in Dallas,Texas.

That was a press car, not an actual sold model. The blue carbon one I saw in Orlando.

Sweet, I'm not far from Symbolic. I hope they have it in their showroom so I can go drool near (not on) it.

Sorry, but to me it looks like someone won that ugliest way to configure a Veyron contest. Then for some reason had it built.
I am sorry, I respect this version but that color combo is hideous.
I prefer the standard Veyron with the open engine, that was one of the coolest parts about it.
I really prefer the open air Grand Sport, to me, the best version of the Veyron.
I have no idea why anyone would buy this car for $2.6 million when you can buy a used "regular" Veyron for a million dollars. They don't hold their value for crap and the top speed is irrelevant seeing as you can't drive to the top speed anywhere anyway of either version.

And let's not forget the black carbon fiber that was launched during Monterey Car Week last year, and driven on the Laguna Seca track for the formation lap of the old Bugattis for the Historics GP. By non other than the official test driver, PHR. He was wearing a $300,000 watch at the time. Nice. Not too many people (even there) could say: "my watch is more expensive than your Ferrari!". :-)
