2011 Jaguar XKR-S – Click above to watch the video after the jump

Jaguar had us at 543 supercharged horsepower and 4.2 seconds to 60 miles per hour. Now, they've released this HD teaser video of the 2011 Jaguar XKR-S in action, and we're more than smitten. Putting the bulging fenders, front and rear spoilers and grimacing vents of the XKR-S in action under glorious lighting is bordering on cruel.

Couple that with a fittingly European soundtrack augmented by the Jag's gruesome rasp, and you have a recipe to make us weak in the knees. If you're of the means and you react the same way we did to this video, save your pennies. The XKR-S goes on sale this summer. Check your pulse after watching the video after the break.

the fascia is a little weird looking but i think it's the color, don't think that blue fits its lines to well. Wish they had more of the exhaust note too

They finally got a good look with the boat.

2006-2009 was Aston-like, but too smooth it looked like a big boat.

2010 is the right look. This is a bit edger, but still in the right direction. Good job.

This is just what Jaguar needs as a 'halo' car. Add a good performance at Sebring next weekend and it spells 'comeback!' Jag finally has some momentum. It's been a long time coming but now they have their best product ever and product is absolutely 'king.' Their dealers have had a tough time for a long time. They deserve some good times and it's a wonderful name.

I like what they did to the nose, though the hood is a bit busy. I'm not a fan of rear wings, period, and this one looks neither elegant or aggressive-- I suppose it is just there for function. I think a subtle duck-tail spoiler would have looked better, but maybe it wouldn't have been tall enough. Other than the color, the car looks good, but more brutish than sophisticated-- I guess it just doesn't suit the character of what I think of as a Jag (I may just be stuck on the E-Type). Lack of a manual transmission (at least an optional one) is inexcusable.

For some reason the car looks far less British and much more Australian to me, though I can't seem to pinpoint why.

I like. The car, the video... They should get some Top Gear cinematographers and editors to do something - after all, Jeremy's got a hard on for anything Jaaaag...

It looks like Jag wants to move into the space BMW's leaving... Namely, luxury driver's car. I, for one, hope they can pull it off.

      Yes, I would like one.
      Thank you.

I admit I was not taken right away by the AB's photo gallery from the Geneva show. But as soon as I saw the first rolling "street level" shot of this machine in the video I became very interested. Now I have to see this car in person and press the START button.

I agree that there seems to be a touch of “renegade Aussie” to this front-end treatment. But Jag has a history of playing with extreme aero designs in their race cars. Remember the incredible fin tail on the D-type? At least everything appears to be functional. Is it? And will this XK age gracefully? Only time will tell.

But something does tell me that if I, after a long week of work, opened my garage door on a cool, clear Saturday morning and saw this thing parked next to my old Jag, a mischievous grin would form on my face. ;)

Can I have mine in silver? With a black interior, please?

too fancy ...should be better the engine sound and A HOT GIRL on the jag
...as the history is ...whould this jag beat the aston again???

It's lighter and more powerful than both the DBS and Vantage V12.

        Research: It's your friend.

Needs a manual, sorry. What kind of Jag sports car doesn't have a manual? This is MADNESS!

        This is SPARTA ! .....
        sorry ....

ok ok , no need to push ...

Jaguar hasn't offered a manual in a 2 door since the late 70's. Having driven a 09 xkr I can tell you the two pedal set up suits the character of the car perfectly, and this is coming from a guy who has owned nothing but stick shifts.
