Smart ForSpeed Concept – Click above for high-res image gallery

Daimler has been so kind as to serve up a heaping helping of Smart ForSpeed photos ahead of the vehicle's unveil at this year's Geneva Motor Show. As you may recall, the concept packs a 41-horsepower electric motor that can whisk this topless wonder all the way to 37 miles per hour in around 5.5 seconds. For reference, those numbers make up a two second improvement over the standard, production version ForTwo ED. We aren't into denying the fact that two seconds is no small gap, but we wouldn't exactly go around calling this contraption quick, either.

The ForSpeed will hit the stage next month without a top, though Smart has been kind enough to include a toneau cover should the skies open up while you're waiting to get to the vehicle's top speed of 75 mph. The good news is that the ForSpeed carries a range of around 85 miles and can be quick charged to 80 percent of capacity in about 45 minutes.

Difficult to make something with these proportions look sleek. This effort isn't it, nor is the original, so they go for cute instead. This has been partially successful. The wheelbase is so short that a friend has to wear a mouthguard when she drives hers, so that the crappy roads here don't chip her teeth.

0 to 37... were they trying to produce a metric no one could compare anything else to? Admittedly buyers of this probably don't care.
37 is quite likely a conversion... Before rounding up it translates into 60kph, which I'm sure was the original metric.

Looks like something you might find under a microscope.

looks like a smart car that melted

The only "Smart" thing about this brand is the check daimler gets every time some idiot pays $14k for a car that gets crappier gas mileage than a $11k Accent, and isn't nearly as safe as one either.

Way to cute-sey. It looks like it has major eye-lashes and a big smile.

Really seems like someone thought they could go after the Mini market when it should have been scrapped.

Mercedes is going to get bought out, by whom..I dont know yet, possibly VW.

They dont sell enough MB's to survive long term, and have a terrible track record for running any car brands other than their own MB (if they were to aquire some other companies to bolster up numbers wise) . We all know the Chrysler story, now smart is in shambles, Maybach is basically dead and so is Sprinter.

      The clock is ticking.

Why is this ugly little worthless creation being promoted for a second time in a week. MB must have a on in this idiocy to keep pushing it. Hope they lose the ton as they ripped off Chrysler and the American taxpayers.
