A relatively recent build of Apple's iOS 4.1 is apparently to blame for connectivity issues between a host of Australian-market Toyotas. The software update, which was released last September and installed on the iPhone, iPod Touch and sixth-generation iPod Nano, won't connect with 2009 and 2010 model-year Corolla, Yaris, LandCruiser, HiLux, Prius and Kluger models. Naturally, Bluetooth streaming and the 3.5mm headphone jack aren't affected, but when the device is plugged-in with Apple's proprietary 30-pin connector, users are met with a "Loading..." screen and no functionality. A service bulletin has been sent out to Aussie Toyota dealers informing them of the issue, and Translogic's sources at Toyota USA haven't been able to confirm whether the issue is worldwide or confined to the continent in the Pacific.
