2011 Dodge all-wheel drive commercial - click above to watch the video

All-wheel drive is available in the 2011 Dodge Charger, Journey and Durango, and with all of the widespread snow this winter, Chrysler is hoping you'll want every edge you can get.

To get the word out about its all-wheel drive lineup, Dodge is running a new TV commercial that pokes fun at the typically panicked behavior that ensues whenever the weather report calls for snow. After the local grocery stores have been stripped bare of milk and bread, you're going to have to go out of your way to restock anyway, so you might as well have a secure, confident way to do it, right? Dodge thinks its AWD offerings turn epic winter weather into little more than flurries. Does Auburn Hills have another hit on our hands from a seemingly reinvigorated Chrysler advertising effort, or is this one a dud? Check it out after the jump, then let us know in 'Comments.'

lol I drive high mountain passes during the winter with my 2wd and winter tires on all 4 corners. 4wd and AWD are what I typically see in the ditch. LOL

Funny because there is an element of truth to it. People DO panic at the sight of snow anymore.

I've had AWD cars and, honestly, my little VW Rabbit/Golf with FWD is one of the best winter cars I've ever owned. (AOL agreed: a year or two ago they mentioned it as one of the "Top 10 Winter Cars".) Seems like the nicely sorted suspension works as well in the slop as in the dry. I throw my Wintersport tires on at Thanksgiving, and - as long as I can keep the snow from getting above the front bumper - I'm good to go. Love the looks on the faces of the terrified SUV drivers as I rock on past.

they are just asking your opinion about the commercial not about snow tires, chains, driving ability. I think it was funny and accurate about how crazy we all are when snow comes.

again Chrysler has no clue what the American public wants or needs Sure AWD is a fine option But where is the mileage In a time where Japan & Korea are producing cars and trucks with AWD styling and a respectable gas mileage Chrysler has stuck to their guns of a Hemi in every garage Audi & Subaru have offered cars & suv's with AWD for decades now and for them to think they've reinvented the wheel is ludicrous So come on Detroit before you start claiming poverty again and costing the American public billions in bailouts look out you windows see what we are driving and build a car we all can be proud of

Judging by sales I think the American public drives mostly GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, and Chrysler products so I think they do get it. Subaru and Audi has a very small market share in the US.

Snow tires really were the victors of the Snowpocalypse here in the Detroit Metro. Drove by a Cherokee (which I have great respect for from time in the UP) up to it's door handles on the side of the road. My Cavalier with a full set of Winterforces drove through 8 or so inches of the heavy stuff like a champ.

I loved the ad, but agree that skills, judgement, clearance, and tires all play at least as much of a role as the drive system. However, we all know that Dodge is trying to sell cars, and this ad will get some additional showroom traffic. I applaud their effort here and acknowledge that the ad essentially reflects many people's attitudes about driving in snow. While I rate my snow driving ability just below that of ice racers and rally drivers, I still go in big for four narrow snow tires and AWD. It just makes snow driving so much easier and fun.

Hey Dodge... I attempted to go to work during "Snowpacalypse" in one of your products, actually (99 Wrangler 4.0L 5 sp A/T tires). Even in 4LOW at times it was getting too sketchy, so I had to admit defeat and go home. Sorry, no Charger or Journey, even with AWD and snow tires, would have made it. There were areas where the drifts were 5' deep, covering major roadways, which were actually shut down by the police on 2-2-11. The Durango might have had a fighting chance, but Im pretty sure that if my Wrangler couldnt make it, the Durango couldnt either. k thx bye

An area where it obviously snows a lot and no Subaru cars? ;)

I live that commercial in my two subarus.

If dodge beats subaru to the market with an AWD challenger ported over from the charger, or a smaller AWD coupe... I am gonna be pissed.

Just listen to that sweet boxer rumble.

That said, I had to unbury my door last week, but other than that I had no problems once IN my Subaru driving through SE Wisconsin's "Snowpocalypse".

Hey hey hey.....A "snowpocalypse" blizzard in my subaru gets uncomfortable when I can't find a good song on the satellite radio.

Subaru is usually the car I see most in the ditch here in Michigan. People think they are invincible and end up sliding off the road.

I just take my time with my little rwd truck.
