Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon - Click above to watch video after the jump

Transformers fans saw a little treat get tucked amongst the slew of high-dollar ads during last night's Super Bowl. Michael Bay and company unleashed another solid glimpse at the next film in the mighty morphing machine saga with a trailer for Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. Judging by the quick clip, we can look forward to more of what made the first two flicks so enjoyable to begin with: intense CG fight scenes, massive destruction and more than a few slow-motion moments.

Shia Labeouf also makes a return appearance.

Labeouf's new co-star, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, also makes a brief appearance during the trailer. We'll reserve judgment on whether or not she's a suitable replacement for Megan Fox until we actually see the movie. Just don't blink during the trailer or you'll miss Huntington-Whitley entirely. You can hit the jump to check out the video for yourself. Also be sure to take a look at a slew of production stills courtesy of AB pal CEOFR. Thanks for the video tip, Ace!

Aren't people entitled to downvote you just as you're entitled to have an opinion?

Just like fast5 these movies are more about visceral entertainment then plot. Having said that it turns out thats what I want the theater for. Movies with plot I can watch at home and enjoy just as much.

If they wreck either of the 458 or the Corvette prototype during the movie... I will be pissed. LOL.

As cheesy as the storyline maybe... I love to look at eye-candy special effects. This third one will not fail to deliver.

I enjoyed the other two TF movies by not expecting anything entirely so stop voting me down for my opinion and for liking something.

Also: Yup, I see Optimus is doing most of the fighting again.

My four-year-old, who doesn't give a rip about football and was playing with Play-Dough for most of the Super Bowl, sat up transfixed when this ad came on. Didn't blink or move once. At the end, in a calm monotone, he said "I like Transformers," then went back to playing.

So I guess the ad worked.

This one looks a little too plot heavy for me.

        Haha well said.

Michael Bay is actually a hyperactive hummingbird with his beak stuck in a Ritalin spiked super frappicino Red Bull.

And yes I'll watch it. I have a fascination with genetic lip enhancement.

Just go to the Transformers Wiki page and you can see how screwed up the overall Transformers plot is after all the cartoons, comics, and movies.

Near the end of Gen 1 you find out that the Aerialbots get sent back in time by Megatron and save a young robot nearly killed by Megatron. They take him to Alpha Trion who rebuilds him into Optimus Prime. This story is then contradicted about 100 times in later cartoons and comics.

TF3 actually looks pretty good and I watched a lot of it being filmed in Chicago. I don't remember seeing giant alien space cruisers in the sky though.

After T2 which was total garbage, I won't hold my breath.

If you're talking about movie ads, the "Fast Five" was much more about cars than the "Transformers 3" ad.

How can you say that? They're autobots, they're giant walking cars for crying out loud.

Scenes? Those weren't scenes. Those were explosions.

The promo made it look better than Transformers 2, which is saying so little it hardly bears mention.

If they have very lil Shia and very little human's in it then I'll be happy. I want to see Robotic carnage on a scale never seen before on the big screen! The preview will hopefully ensure the rest of the movie is as such. The most annoying parts of one and two where Shia and Fox..

Hey I liked Transformers 2. I don't expect a movie about giant robots from space to have a wickedly intricate plot line or great acting I just want it to be entertaining and have awesome fight scenes. I expect more or less the same thing for TF3

Thank You Mr Bay for f&#king up the best cartoon of the 80's, by releasing this garbage trilogy. Why didn't you remake the friggin Go-Bots, you can be the stupid scooter!
You couldn't buy a plot for TF, with all those knuckleheads working for you? All Spark? How about Megatron just takes plain ol Energon, suck Earth dry... like the original?
Of all the hotties in Hollywood, you offer up Ms Fox to humanity...umm can she act? Le Goof is terrible as well... he also F#cked up another good trilogy (Indiana Jones) by being in it.

pls dont slice the 458 in half like they did to the r8 right at the beginning.

I quite liked the first one and the second did have some cool scenes, like Optimus going all dual wielding Swordimus Prime on everyone. But more and more I just couldn't tell who was bashing who. It was just giant piles of shiny metal bits banging around a lot. I wish they'd simplified the models a little and given them a bit more color. If Optimus was primarily red and Megatron was primarily white, and not quite so reflective it would have made a lot of scenes a lot easier to decipher.
