For our final round of coverage from CES 2011 we take a spin the in the GM EN-V personal mobility concept. Part Segway, part self-driving car pod, the EN-V feels like its arrived directly from the future of transportation.

How do they know it looks like an alien car? Has anyone every seen one?

They should test it in Bakersfield Ca. It is like a miniature version of a big city

The first flight at Kitty Hawk flew 120 feet in 12 seconds. No room for kiddie seats or groceries, no space for luggage, and lots of other disadvantages. You'd think that we would learn from such foolish endeavors and stick with the tried and true means of transportation.

Until they put speed into smart/green vehicles, Americans, as a whole, won't get on board. Give a guy some muscle, some umph, and look out. Add some speed to these vehicles, and there will be a resulting surge in R&D on smart/green tech, due to the increased American appetite.

Then look at the Tesla Roadster if you want speed and umph!!
Is 0-60 in 3.7 seconds enough umph?? And the thing is completely electric.

Take a look at the Tesla Roadster. 288hp, top speed of 125mph, 0-60 in 3.7sec and a range of 245mi. Plenty of power, but have yet to see one on the road.

you cannot put horsepower behind small plastic cars . you have to sacrafice convenience for power or power for convenience. I think these means of transpo are great, just keep the prices within reach of average joe and jane. times are definately a changin!

another g.m. folley like the so called volt... which was a big waste of government money (thats right folks , g.m. didnt pay or its develoment, your tax money did). this piece of crap wont even
replace the atv's they use at local events for crews to get around in
just another waste of our money and a show for the obama motor company.
25 mph and 25 mile limit.... lol
that would not get you across any town of any size...
another screw up by obamas general motors who hasnt made a decent
car sence they begin way back in the early 1900's

Great concept and prototypes! Hope I live long enough to see the system they need developed... because it will also mean a greater population with fewer non-visionaries and short-sighted people.

After watching the video, one possibility came to mind. At a mall or supermarket, the car would pull right up to the door, After you exit, the car could drive off by itself, and park itself. When you come out of the store, the car could be commanded to pick you up. A feature like that would be very advantageous to older/hanycapped drivers. Also the supermarket or mall would greatly benifit from a special parking lot for these cars, and maybe a special lane for drop off.

Betcha it would be great to be sealed in that thing when it's 90 + degrees. Oh well, you might sweat off a few pounds.

Looks like a small enclosed golf cart with no place to put the clubs. I want to know how many of my tax dollars Government Motors is wasting on this. these things are a death trap if anything larger than a mini cooper hit it, and i agree they cant operate in northern cities
