Javier Quirós takes his new Lexus LFA for a spin – Click above to watch the video after the jump

Lucky Lexus owners across the globe are eager to receive their new LFA supercars. Javier Quirós of Costa Rica is one such person, and decided to celebrate the delivery of his red LFA in a manner befitting such a vehicle... by doing a few donuts.

Don't worry about Javier losing control of the 552-horsepower, 10-cylinder two-door. Quirós is a race driver with Gazoo Racing and president of Purdy Motor, the Costa Rican distributor for Toyota products. Javier has competed around the globe at tracks like Daytona and the Nürburgring.

You can't see it in the video but we imagine Mr. Quirós' smile is wider than the grille on the front of his new LFA. This is LFA #0014, which Quirós specially requested from Akio Toyoda because 14 is his usual racing number. Click past the jump for the clip.

      Red does help.

But it still isn't well styled on the front, and could be better finished on the back, too.

Frankly, just putting that slick fastback roofline on the IS body, as an IS coupe or make that a new SC... That would be fine, and cost a tenth of the LF-A.
        What? I get down-rated for that? :D

Does nobody else want a good coupe that is actually affordable at ~40k, rather than ~400K?

Hand-me-downs to an IS/SC could be LF-A's best benefit to actual people.

        SC350 for the V6, SC500-F for the V8 version... (IS-F engine, plus a dual-clutch gearbox, rather than an 8-speed auto torque-converter slushbox)

What is so bad about that? Especially if they keep the front end styling of the IS or something close to that or the original SC, instead of the odd LF-A front-end.

They could use the triple center exhaust ports, though... better than diagonally stacked -obviously-fake-tip ovals.

Take the LF-A's roofline, minus the shoulder intake vents, and made out of metal rather than CF.

Take the interior design like that of the LF-A, that is cool.

Maybe I could actually own that car, where I might not even set eyes on an LF-A. What is so bad about an attainable version... especially if painted either IS-F ultrasonic blue, or the red that this LF-A is clothed in.

There is no denying ... Lexus has done a remarkable job with the engineering of the LFA but saddened by the fact only 500 production models will be produced. This piece of engineering deserves to be built in much greater numbers.

And, for those who are interested ... 'The Lexus Enthusiast' website has published a number of LFA related articles particuarly about the arrival of the first batches of production LFA's ready for delivery to customers - defantly worth the time to have a look.

I'm not usually a fan of the engine notes of hi-revving engines like these. I prefer the sound of the Mercedes Mclaren SLR, or the Dodge Challenger... But DAMN, this actually sounds pretty good. xD

Gazoo Racing? I'm okay with this. That was the Nur-Meister's racing team wasn't it?

i think the LF-A should be in the running for greatest sounding car of all time. and this is coming from a euro fan.
It sounds great and exceptionally smooth, but it's no Carerra GT or FXX, IMO. I might even pick the BMW V-10 over this one in terms of sound, but high-revving V-10s sound good in general.

How ironic it would have been if he accidentally swiped one of those also-newly-arrived Prii/Priuses/Prius/Prien!

That is the best sounding donut ever.

God how I love screaming V10's

Exactly what I would have done.
