Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition – Click above for high-res image gallery

We've said it before and we'll say it again: The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is an absolutely stunning piece of machinery. We recently had a chance to steer a C63 fitted with the P31 Development Package around the greater Detroit area, and it now looks like our friends to the north are getting a special edition of Merc's AMG atom bomb all for themselves.

Dubbed the Affalterbach Edition (it's named after the German town in which AMG's skunkworks reside), this C63 wears a unique Magno Allanite Grey paint that is accented with red brake calipers, 19-inch black alloy wheels, carbon fiber mirror shells and a subtle lip spoiler. No tweaks have been made to the C63's powertrain, but the Affalterbach edition comes standard with the normally optional AMG Performance Package, meaning there's 481 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque on tap. Sprints to 62 miles per hour will be accomplished in a tidy 4.4 seconds.

Inside, the Affalterbach treatment includes things like AMG sport seats wrapped in Nappa leather, red contrast stitching, carbon fiber trim, and special edition logos placed throughout the cabin. Only 30 units will be sold in the Great White North, starting from $81,500 Canadian when it goes on sale in the spring. Follow the jump for Mercedes-Benz's official release.

Mercedes-Benz Canada is pleased to announce the Canadian premiere of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition today at the 2011 Montreal International Auto Show. Exclusive to Canada, and limited to just 30 units, the C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition was designed in the AMG Performance Centre in Affalterbach, Germany and features unique styling cues and an impressive list of special equipment that have never been offered before on a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition is finished in highly distinctive designo MAGNO Allanite Grey paintwork, and its unique appearance is further distinguished by high-performance AMG brakes with red calipers, 19" AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in black, carbon-fibre mirror housings and a rear lip spoiler.

The C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition is powered by the hand-built, 6.2 L V8 engine that offers 481 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, which propels it from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

The luxurious interior of this limited edition model features the Affalterbach logo prominently displayed on the gearshift lever and embossed on the headrests, and red contrast stitching adorns the black AMG Nappa leather sport seats. The overall design is completed by AMG carbon-fibre trim, floor mats with red leather piping and a special Affalterbach Edition badge which identifies every car with its unique "1 of 30" designation.

The C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition boasts an extensive list of standard equipment and also features each element from the C63 AMG Premium Package, which includes a rear view camera, PARKTRONIC, COMAND APS with HDD Navigation and DVD Changer, multi-media interface, rear window sunshade, harman/kardon LOGIC7® surround sound system and KEYLESS-GO. In addition, the Affalterbach Edition is equipped with the AMG Performance Package, which adds 30 additional horsepower, removes the speed limiter and adds a limited-slip differential.

In every category, I can't tell an expensive one from a cheap one:

      Suits
      Golf equipment
      Colognes
      Watches
      Chocolates
      Wines
      Benzes

        So you're saying that you...

        Look bad
        Slice/Hook
        Smell bad
        Arrive late
Spend your Saturday nights with "the boys"
        Have no taste
        ...can't argue with ya here...

Wait, the pic of the shifter......is that a manual??

(Too bad, no pics to see if there is a third pedal)

Such a beautiful sedan. Someday, someday......a used one will be depreciated enough for me to afford LOL

I looked at the pic of the shifter and it is definitely an automatic, you can see the PRND123+/- blurry printing to the left of the shifter

My C class has a 6sp and 3 pedals, unfortunately it has half the horsepower a C63 has :(

I love the Affalterbach badging on the headrests and shift knob. I wish they'd put them elsewhere on the car as well, it's too good to not have.

      Also, I wish I had $75,000 :(
you will need more than $75,000 as the $Cdn is worth more than the US$. But probably will get a break because cars are so much cheaper south of the border.
The C63 is "only" $64,000 CAD (I live in Canada).

I am going to CA, and paying cash for it. Wait!? Will they charge me a Grand Canyon size tax on re-entry???

A friend of mine has a company right next to AMG in Affalterbach. He's loaned them part of his parking space because regular employees don't have enough space anymore (because of the dozens of SLS AMGs littering the sidewalk*).

Why did they name the special version after their home town when the car will be sold in Canada? Affalterbach has no meaning to anyone but die Deutsch.

*had a tiny orgasm every time I passed by that place.
