Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon race car gets rendered – Click above to view high-res image gallery

Like us, reader Tristan Hipps is a fan of the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon. After perusing the recently-released images of the CTS-V Coupe race car, Hipps decided that he wanted to see what a wagon version might look like. I think we can all agree that it looks damn sexy...

Hipps stated that he "just tweaked the photos" of the CTS-V coupe to produce his vision of the Sport Wagon racer. If we tried that, we 'd probably end up with something resembling a Pontiac Aztek.

Click through the gallery below for two angles on Hipps' design, each set done with and without a rear spoiler.

A race car where I can take my 4 kids with me around the track!!!
Show them what RACING is ALL about and hopefully not scare them too much, ha ha!

      Outstanding job Tristan.

      YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

"Wagons were meant to haul things. This wagon was meant to haul ass!"

That's a drastic improvement over the coupe

      Why?

And it's incredible work. The only problem I have is before it gets to the hatch, the roof seems to swoop down a bit. Might be an optical illusion because of the watermark.

Jimmy Glick: Correction: I have NEVER been published by Autoblog. I have furnished links to my work but Autoblog itself has never even confirmed my existence. My work has been published at other sites, but never by Autoblog. And my question was a valid one. I wondered why he went to the extra work of creating a wagon bodystyle for the coupe when a wagon is already available. Don't attribute animus to my comments when there isn't any. I defended this artist several posts below.

The 2nd pic, profile stance w/o spoiler, looks real sick. Great job on this design!

Thipps, Did you see what artandcolour2010 just did?

quote: "It's fun to be published, isn't it?"

translation: Just wanted you and everyone else to know that I've been published on Autoblog, too. (pats self on back)

quote: "I just wonder why you didn't start with the wagon and just transfer the graphics over from the racing coupe?"

translation: I could have done this rendering better than you. (pats self on back again)

It like your work. It's a quite sexy car.

It's a drag we don't get a pic from the back, because the vertical taillights on the CTS sport wagon are quite a standout and I think they'd look good on the race one too. I know this is likely because the rear views would be a lot of work due to how different the rear of the wagon is to the coupe or sedan.

        But it's nice to dream.

Thanks, very good its not the same profile as the actually wagon I made it lower and meaner because its a race car. good eye

This is cool. I like the idea of a two door wagon. Chevrolet did it back in the 50's and they were good looking.
And you couldn't post that anywhere else than in a post about race cars....

      Now THAT looks HOT!!

Absolutely horrible - saw the Cadillac AMC Sportabout Wagon in person today and it is simply awful looking. The rendering is equally awful. You can't make an apple pie out of a cowpie.
