Audi paints giant A7 billboard – Click above to watch the video after the jump

This is an ad for the all-new 2012 Audi A7 Sportback in Berlin. It looks perfectly normal, but would you believe that it's nearly 10,800 square feet in size? How about the fact that it was painted with 200 cans of spray paint and took 14 days to create?

Translated to English, the billboard roughly reads, "Nothing is more inspiring than a blank sheet of paper. It is the opportunity to create something unique." Unique, indeed, and very fitting for a vehicle as segment-warping as the new Audi A7 Sportback. It's Audi's answer to the Porsche Panamera, and if we're honest, we find it absolutely stunning.

Follow the jump to watch a video showing how Audi's latest (and largest) marketing campaign came to life.

Audi clearly has too much money these days...

Not really. I'm noticing a trend these days. It seems like all the German car makers these days always have two designs for their midsize cars, they always put the bland looking one out first, then the good looking one out as a "coupe", charging a premium.

        I mean look:

CC was what the Passat should have been
CLS was what the E-Class should have been
Gran Coupe Concept was what the 5-series should have been

...and now this was what the A6 should have been.

Don't worry about JRM125, he's just having a bad day.

        I see your point.

I would like to see Banksy "edit" this

You beat me to it, I was about to say the same! Impressive sign though its only when you notice the truck in the foreground that you realise how huge it is, but it needs 'Banksy' magical touch to make it a little bit special.

I'm ordering this car from Santa Claus this year. Too poor to buy. Want badly. After all his failures for so many years I know he'll not let me down this time.

that ad is awesome! I'd have a hard time deciding between that and the A6 http://news.ultimatestreet.com/view/986/the-new-2012-audi-a6 they are both such beautiful cars

Just how much fluorocarbons is that?

Nothing is more inspiring and terrifying than a blanket sheet of paper.

What's so stunning about it? The usual, me-too, fast back rear and the usual Audi fascia. OTOH, the Panamera is truly unique, truly form-follows-function, and like anything novel controversial, and so be it.

Does this mean that if I get one, I can give it a rattle-can respray?
