The Race of Champions (RoC) is a competition between many of the planet's greatest drivers going head to head in a variety of identically prepared vehicles. This year saw a cleaner, greener machine added to the roster with the inclusion of Tesla Roadsters. The cars were used in practice sessions and so the results weren't part of the official standings, but videos of Michael Schumacher and others – awaiting your perusal after the break – reveal they weren't exactly doing parade laps either. Perhaps if they're traction control hadn't been enabled the footage might have been a bit more dramatic.
The four examples were specially prepared with an added roll cage, a carbon-fiber racing seat with six-point harness, a stripped interior and a big red button on the dash to cut power should the need arise. It's all just enough to whet the appetite for a full-fledged Roadster racers with liquid-cooled motors and leaner, meaner battery packs.
