Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera chases a Porsche 911 GT3 through Paris – Click above to watch video after the jump

Before we go salivating all over the thought of two of Europe's best and brightest going the distance through the City of Lights, we should probably start off with an obligatory "don't try this at home." The kids you see sliding around the Parisian streets in the video after the jump are trained professionals working in a semi-controlled environment, so do us all a favor and keep your reenactments confined to your Need For Speed marathons.

That said, the video is a well-shot interpretation of what a full lap of Paris might look like as a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera go fender-to-fender. Our early money was on the Raging Bull strolling away with the checkered flag, but Stuttgart's finest seemed to have no problem keeping the big bad Italian behind its winged tail-end as the two snake around the French capitol. Hit the jump to see the action for yourself.

This would have been a whole lot funnier if the guys in the chase cars had pulled up to congratulate the drivers for a job well done...in Fiat Puntos. Otherwise I didn't get it...not funny at all.

Funnier still if they had pulled up to the hotel at the end, got out as valet drivers and handed the owners their keys.

Meh... the original Getaway in Stockholm is by far the best, I remember watching this years ago as a car obsessed 16 year old.

Capital, not capitol, peeps... Different things, really. :P

      Looks like fun, though !

Impressive looking video but unrealistic due to several critical flaws: There is no way this was filmed in one run. Too many of the shots are too close to the two cars which could only be accomplished by support cars driving almost as well as the starring drivers. There are also too many shots from the cars themselves even though no attached cameras are seen in the exterior shots. The introduction states that it was done in a semi-controlled environment as if to excuse such risky driving in an urban environment. With such varying road surfaces, night-time visibility limitations, and the urban environment, it was an irresponsible and dangerous run to make. I would give it a thumbs down overall for irresponsible driving. Expensive cars and filming equipment coupled with great editing do not justify reckless driving.

this is video is done around between 1 and 5 am, but atleast after midnight.

paris is a 11 million + envorinment, it's a lunatic ....and hektik during the day.
get a vacacion and visit paris and drive on the famouse roads on friday night.

besides to guy with the flashlights would have warned people or stopped the cars and redo the partial take.

but for many people in europe this is daily driving, although with less powerfull cars.
i have doing it for over 17 years (ofcourse not all the time, but if your in a ... mood) and none accidents sofar and no cops or fines for dangerous ..., only 2 speeding tickets and 1 for a broken rear light.

i once overtoke a car, heading right in the oposite traffic and no way to return to my lane, because there was a green section between the lanes, but i watched far ahead and i had room.

before the licensen point system, i did full trotle on my journey to my job everyday, like many other, womans included.

that's essense of driving, but safety goes first

Can I get the next round? I'd prefer the Porsche, but if they just happened to let me drive the Gallardo, I don't think I could say no.

I got to drive a Gallardo for a couple of hours and though it's a beautiful car it was an extremely painful experience. At 6' 5" my knees were jammed against the steering wheel and I had to litterally tilt my head to the side the whole time. I can't conceive of how these basketball players get them unless the sit on the floor (it didn't appear there was anymore room behind the seat to go backwards).

Guess I don't have to worry too much since a $200k+ car isn't in my near future...

could have been a lot cooler had the camera not been shaking violently the whole time.

That "effect" can be good only a few times... making an entire movie with it just plain sucks. I was very unimpressed, and I love anything with a Lambo in it.

word. and... WAY TOO MUCH CUTTING.
editors need to go back to film class.

Im 6'3 and did hardly fit in the gallardo when driving it on the catalan racetrack near barcelona. The car is made for dwarves! I did much better in the Porsche Turbo S I drove afterwards. Thx to my girlfriend again for that wonderful birthday gift!

I would put my money on the GT3 but it would be close. As for me, I too would rather be in the 458 Italia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Br6f_BCVc
