Lamborghini's new V12 and ISR transmission – Click above to watch the videos after the jump

Lamborghini is pretty excited about its new V12, and justifiably so. The outgoing Bizzarrini-designed engine it replaces has been on duty for nearly fifty years since the company's founding, and has powered everything from supercars to SUVs to F1 racers along the way.

The new clean-sheet design – which was just recently announced – is set to power the Murcielago's replacement, tipped to be named the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Along with it, Sant'Agata has also developed a new breed of gearbox, which is highlighted in the series of videos we've placed for your viewing pleasure after the jump. Check 'em out for a closer look at the beating heart of a new generation of Raging Bulls.

Anyone know where the oil filter goes on this beast? or for that matter on any lambo? I'm pretty sure it doesn't stick out the side or back of the engine like most other cars...

Ferrari and their odd firing V12s can suck an egg!

Now you realize what the Guillardo is... the money maker so they can toy around with this car... the REAL Lamborghini.

I hate to say it, but hats off to VW for helping them become financially secure so they can keep making such things. I also Imagine this next Bull will be much more insane than the Murciellago style wise. I remember everyone drooling over the Zonda and being meh over the Murciellago when they came out.

Personally, I hope it follows the same simple shapes that the Murciellago employed as well as the Diablo and Countach did when they first appeared. Simple can always be dressed up with wings and crap later.

Only 4 throttle bodies? Sheesh...for what this thing is going to cost it should have 12 tuned stacks with individual throttle bodies.

Are you counting the variable resonance throttle blades?

What does it matter how many throttles it has when you have 700hp? and it probably has a velocity stack/airhorn inside of the manifold plenum.

      That last clip. My lord.

That engine is a work of art. If I were a millionaire, I'd have on on display in my house.
