2011 Volvo V60 by Heico Sportiv – Click above for high-res image gallery

Performance Volvos have long been the sleepers of all sleepers. That is to say, quiet aggression with a hidden punch. Swedish tuning house Heico Sportiv is a big part of that formula, its tuned Volvos shaming sportscar drivers who just never know what hit 'em. But if you really want to fly under the radar and throw some egg on the poseurs' faces, what you're going to need is a tuned Volvo wagon. Fortunately Heico has just announced such a model.

The modifications for the new Volvo V60 are essentially the same as those already announced for the S60 sedan, but with a little extra cargo capacity and an added dose of "unassuming." That means a 2.0T model boosted to 297 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque or a T6 pumping out 330 and 339.

A retuned suspension, aero kit, quad exhaust tips and 18- or 20-inch wheels round out the package, which ought to give that Porsche driver a hint at the source of his embarrassment and the soccer mom driving it a little something to show off in the daycare parking lot. Have a closer look in the gallery below as Heico prepares to unveil the tuned V60 at the Essen tuner show later this month.

By the hammer of Thor! Centuries of Scandinavian ship building leading up to this! I just want one to voyage into my driveway, I don't care how many heads must roll.

Just saw a second generation V70-R on my way to work with the little Viking helmet badge on the back. Mighty good looking wagon, and definitely a sleeper. I love tuned Volvo wagons.

OK, the Heico part is mostly irrelevant, but damn, that's a good looking wagon. And the modern Porsche would look just fine next to this in the garage.

If there ever was a car to revive Volvo's wagon sales in the US this would be it but Volvo isn't bringing it here, shame.

Volvo not bringing any of their wagons to the U.S. is a huge mistake. Sure the volume wouldn't even come close to their SUV sales, but they would completely own the market. This Heico car makes me drool and be jealous because I know Europe always gets the coolest wagons.

I'll just have to get buy with my '96 855 Turbo ;-)

Oh gimme a break. What modern Porsche would be embarrassed by this? A base model boxster? Sounds more like an ad or press release than interesting news.

Volvos make great sleepers. I remember back in the day, there were several V8 conversion kits for the 240 (I think that's the model). There a few with the Ford V8 dropped in, but I'm sure there were kits for other V8s. Boxy, safe, and FAST! Of course, now they aren't so boxy and fast. I like the look of this model.

You can still get those kits.

Harsh... unless Heico is importing the car to the U.S.

Looks hot, but needs to be lowered a bit more. It looks like an allroad in some shots.

      Sick!!!

I'll take an AWD version please. In North America. And don't lower it, like someone suggested, leave it exactly as is. Brilliant.

What the heck happened to all the Volvo Wagons?

I still see a ton of the old-style (< '90s) boxy ones, and a few of the newer style ones (late 90s to early 00s). But I don't think I have ever seen a V60 wagon on the road.
It's likely you haven't seen a V60 because they're not on sale yet and won't be sold in the United States. The V70 has been withdrawn from the US too.

Wagons got replaced by crossovers. I see about as many v60s as I see C-class and 3-series wagons. however XC60s, X3s,Q5s, and an increasing amount of GLKs are a dime a dozen
