James Glickenhaus' P4/5C takes shape – Click above for image gallery

The Ferrari P4/5C that will race in next year's Nürburgring 24 is taking shape. All we have at this point are a bunch of shots of carbon fiber bodywork being wrapped around the roll cage and structure, but shouldn't that be enough? At this rate it looks like the car, using an F430 chassis, will be ready early next year for testing, which should give the four drivers named to the team –Mika Salo, Nicola Larini, Fabrizio Giovanardi, and Luca Cappellari – plenty of time to find any cracks in its blood red armor. The next video segment of the racer's gestation should be coming online soon, but in the meantime check out the shots below to see the P4/5C's progress.

...and they've probably have been used for years.

This is fantastic - my only comment though is that I wish he had kept the P4/5 moniker for the Enzo based car and used something like xxx SP for this V8 version to honor the 206SP which is more keeping with the layout and design.

Yep, flatter and smoother than wood.

Are those giant blocks of marble on the floor?
      WTF?!
I was thinking the same thing. Why have wood boxes when you can have marbel blocks laying around.
not marble, they're polystyrene blocks that have taken a bit of abuse and grime

      Isn't this just beautiful? :)

This guy, with his money, instead of just collecting historic cars, decided to make car history with his own small chapters. :) I'll drink up to that!

      T-Top FTW!! LOL!
Yes, I know that, but at this point it looks like a T-top, hence the LOL.

No T-tops. The doors will open to that point allowing easier exit and entry during pit stops. Think GT-40 or go google the original P4/5 with the doors open.

Unlike Porsche who is a Company we're a small private team.

Carbon Fiber tubs aren't allowed in the class we're in so that wasn't possible.

Also at the Ring a V12 would have been too fuel inefficient.

We're basically building to GT2 rules but as P 4/5 is a one off P 4/5 Competizione will race in EXP1.

We will be testing in January and running a 6 Hour race at the Ring in March or April.

So THAT is what's left of the F430 Suderia?
