The Lil Pete – Click above for high-res image gallery

You'll have to excuse us while we go a little fan boy for a moment. This is perhaps one of the most hands-down awesome aftermarket conversions we've ever laid our eyes on. A few brilliant souls have come up with the perfect solution for the those old trucks languishing around the farm: build a scale replica of a big rig out of them. For the low, low price of just $12,950, you get the complete body ready to bolt onto your 1980s-1990s Ford F-250 two-wheel drive, 1973-1987 Chevrolet Pickup or 1994-2003 Dodge Ram into a baby big rig. At around five feet tall at the cab, the machines do an excellent job of looking just like the "real" thing.

Lil Big Rig will be happy to supply you with all of the accessories you need to flesh out the project in every way, from fuel tanks and fenders to appropriate lighting and the like. Since the trucks can be built with full sleeper cabs, this could very well be the perfect toy or track-day hauler. That is, so long as there's the right powerplant under the hood.

I'd rather have a big truck that looks like a larger version of a small European truck than a small truck that looks like an old school ugly American big truck. That reminds me, it would be nice if they did a cabover version for installing on 1980's Toyota van platforms. I did once see a 1970's VW bus that was converted into a flatbed truck complete with side fuel tanks, dualies and rear mud flaps.

The ultimate chick car! I am going to show this to my wife to see if she wants one.

My wife said she thinks it's 'cute'. Neither of us wants to own one tho.

Since it's pickup-based, wonder if they can make it a 6x6?

Why? You can buy a real semi for 13k in good condition instead of driving this around like a jackass

If it wasn't for the Winnebago-from-the-80's interior it would be pretty cool - the outside looks like, well, a truck. If that's you're thing go for it. But who's the target audience? Most truckers spend enough time in their rigs they don't want their own pickup to look the same, and for everyone else it's just not practical. If they can make a few bucks let 'em go for it! Keeping a few jobs close to home - I'd say its a creative way to avoid unemployment or even realize some childhood dream.

Those are completely awesome! If I had the money it would be a really fun project. Then I could buy a monkey for a companion and travel the U.S.

      Fantastic.

My brother has my grandfather's old F250 RWD Diesel, late 80's era... the diesel engine still runs, and the mechanicals are all working, but the body is abused, like the farm truck it was.

It would be a PERFECT donor for a project like this.

I wonder if they have any plans to replicate other cab-styles...

It would be great if there were a 5th wheel, plus an option to winch up a flat bed and lock it down, or some other options onto the rear frame-rails for cargo without a trailer.

The suggestion for an Optimus Prime paint job is fantastic.
