Rides magazine Hyundai Sonata Turbo – Click above for high-res image gallery

Interesting fact: One of the Hyundai PR folks told us he didn't even want to bring a tuned Sonata to SEMA, then RIDES magazine showed up with this matte pearlescent Sonata 2.0T and it turned out to be his favorite car on display. Funny how these things work out.

An M Vinyl carbon fiber roof presides over the matter, with carbon fiber also found on the grille, mirror housings and Lux Motorwerks bodykit. Inside, a stitched suede headlliner lords over upholstered black leather and black suede with contrasting red stitching. 20-inch Rennen Monolicht M9 wheels and smoked taillights make it all complete, and it's ready for your eyes in the gallery of high-res photos below.

Not bad, although without AWD or a manual, this is no better than the souped up Camry's and Accords.

a little over done on the back, but otherwise an amazing jump for Hyundai considering how many you saw at SEMA 5 years ago...

I have to honestly say Not Bad At All. Now personally I think an added touch would be to blacken the roof, weather replace it with heavily tinted glass, or black carbon fiber.

Looks very devilish.....I hope they put this as a trim level.

Me too. So I can laugh at the driver.

Car looks a little... lost, without any badges :(

wow. i can't recall the last time a car did such a complete 180 from press shots to live shots. that peach matte does NOT work.

Had this been in a whiter finish as the original photos implied then I still give this a thumbs up. There's a chance it could just be the white balance though, given that the photographer is probably set for the cooler lights most displays have and this car appears to be lit primarily by the florescent lights supplied by the building. My clue; the floor has a matching warm tone. This car needs to be shot outside on a sunny day. Otherwise, I still like it. Yeah there's a lot of fake CF on it but come on, compare it to the stock factory version and you gotta admit, it is a pretty good attempt at making it cool. Plus, who knew Rides Mag could actually IMPROVE the looks of a car?

Seems like every day this week I open Autoblog and get to read another articles about the RIDES magazine Hyundai Sonata. SEMA must be dead

I had an idea for the logo for Hyundai..

a Ferocious Asian Tiger frames in a Pentagon (masonic) since Tigers are domestic animals of Korea.

Or Ying or Yang (( Nature always in Conflict) or trying to achieve balance in the world.
like the national symbol of South Korea.

Maybe A Lion (The top predator of Africa) Symbol for many wealthy people since they were super aggressive in achieving their wealth though maybe machiavellian means.

We are officially done hearing about SEMA.
Guess what, news goes in cycles. Right now there isn't much going on.

I agree. It is about time for this months "By the Numbers" to come out.
Amen. I mean this is more coverage than an auto show and at least those products we'll see on the street.

I love the logo-less approach. Nice.

        It's called shame.
